Girodisc Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio with CCM Rotors - Rear Rotors
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency. This reduction in rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration and suspension response.

Girodisc Advantages:
GiroDisc brake kits are seen at every track weekend on very exotic and extreme track cars. What made GiroDisc owners leave their OEM rotors and upgrade to a 2 piece GiroDisc kit?
- Less Rotating Mass via 2 piece design
- Lightweight 6061-T6 Aluminum Hat
- Grade 12 floating hardware to allow the rotor to grow when heated
- Curved vane design creates a cooler rotor
- Significant cost reduction compared to OEM
GiroDisc Rotor Hat:
The GiroDisc rear central is manufactured using aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum. Less weight creates a huge advantage in acceleration and braking. Anyone who has spent the money for a lightweight double disk clutch kit with aluminum flywheel knows the importance of rotating mass. Using a lightweight rotor kit allows the brakes to decelerate the vehicle not the rotor.
GiroDisc Floating Rotor Ring:
Quality hi-carbon cast iron is the foundation of every GiroDisc brake rotor. Every rotor ring is made carefully in house at the GiroDisc factory in Washington state. The GiroDisc rotor utilizes a curved vane design that was originally developed in racing to act as a centrifugal air pump to force cooling air from the center of the rotor ring to the outside. This principle is similar to what is know as a squirrel cage fan design. By having impellers (vanes) between the two rotor faces, the air is moved radially, from the center outward, changing the direction of the airflow and increasing velocity. This design is mechanically strong, reliable very effective. Chances are your street cars heater blower motor and home furnace utilize
GiroDisc Rotor Ring Hardware:
The GiroDisc rotor ring and light-wight aluminum hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These drive pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The drive pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.
GiroDisc Rotor Ring Replacement:
Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed. Your GiroDisc replacement rotor rings come complete with 2 new rotor rings and all required floating rotor hardware. This is a very simple task that is quite fun. The aluminum rotor hat usually does not ever need replacement unless bent or damaged. If you damaged has reached your GiroDisc hat, you almost have quite a bunch of other things to replace also. The hat is rugged and overly strong.
