Adapter cables are used to change a wiring protocol to another. The most common race car wiring protocols are IMSA (4C), NASCAR (3C), Stilo (4C), European IMSA, and Rally. For communicators there is Chatterbox, Trac-Com, Stilo and RaceCeiver.
