Discovery Parts Shipping Protection safeguards your order against loss, damage, or theft during transit. If something goes wrong while your package is with the carrier, we’ll resolve it fast so you can stay focused on the track.

Especially recommended for mission-critical, high-value safety gear, electronics, and race-weekend deliveries.

What Is Shipping Protection?

Discovery Parts Shipping Protection is an optional service that safeguards your order against loss, damage, or theft during transit. If something goes wrong while your package is in the carrier’s hands, we’ll make it right quickly—without the delays or frustrations of traditional carrier claims.

This protection is directly administered by Discovery Parts and allows us to resolve issues faster so you can get back to what matters: racing.


What’s Covered

Shipping Protection covers eligible orders that experience:

Lost Packages
If your shipment is confirmed lost in transit by the carrier.

Shipping Damage
If items arrive damaged due to mishandling during shipping.

Theft (Porch Piracy)
If a delivered package is stolen before you can retrieve it.


What You Receive

If your protected shipment is lost, damaged, or stolen, Competition Motorsport will, at our discretion:

  • Replace the affected item(s), or

  • Issue store credit, or

  • Provide a refund to the original payment method

Our goal is always to get you back on track as quickly as possible.


What’s Not Covered

Shipping Protection does not cover:

  • Incorrect shipping addresses entered at checkout

  • Packages marked as delivered but later misplaced by the recipient

  • Delays caused by carriers, weather, or customs

  • International duties, taxes, or customs seizures

  • Damage caused after delivery

  • Claims filed outside the claim window (see below)


Claim Timeframes

To ensure prompt resolution, claims must be submitted within the following windows:

  • Lost packages: 7–21 days after the last tracking update (varies by carrier)

  • Damaged items: Within 5 days of delivery

  • Stolen packages: Within 5 days of marked delivery

Claims submitted outside these timeframes may not be eligible.


Stolen Package Claims (Porch Piracy)

Packages marked as delivered but reported stolen must be reported within 5 days of the carrier delivery scan. All theft claims require a valid police report filed with the customer’s local law enforcement agency. The report must include the delivery address and reference the stolen package. Claims submitted without a police report or outside the reporting window will not be eligible for coverage. Discovery Parts reserves the right to verify claim details and determine the appropriate resolution, which may include replacement, store credit, or refund at our discretion.

Shipments with signature required at delivery are not eligible for Stolen Package coverage once a delivery signature has been obtained by the carrier.


How to File a Claim

To start a claim, contact our support team with:

  • Order number

  • Description of the issue

  • Photos of damage (if applicable)

  • Any supporting documentation

Refunds & Returns

Shipping Protection is non-refundable once your order has shipped.
If an order is canceled prior to shipment, the protection fee will be refunded.

If a protected order is returned for a refund, the Shipping Protection fee is not refundable, as coverage was active during transit.
