Ferodo DS3.12 Brake Compound Details:
The Ferodo DS3.12 is a track only compound with the flattest torque curve across the largest temperature range with very high torque. The Ferodo DS3.12 is identified with production code "G" and is the latest evolution in the Ferodo's DS track-only brake pad line. Designed for Hyper, Super and modern sports cars that have increased horsepower, more aero, higher curb weight, and stickier tires. These attributes all place greater demands on the vehicle’s ABS system.
The Ferodo DS3.12 is the modern pad compound designed from the start to explicitly handle those demands. Out of all the pad compounds we have ever tested, even from manufacturers, the DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means that on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability.
The DS3.12 has a higher mu than all of Ferodo’s other compounds, so not as much leg pressure is required to initiate the desired response. It is also unfadable, showing no drop in performance at any temp your brakes will ever see. In dyno testing, the DS3.12 has shown superior wear rates to the other Ferodo compounds, while remaining kind to the discs. We believe the DS3.12 will become the gold standard to which other race compounds will be compared.

Brake Compounds
Carbotech 1521
The Carbotech 1521 is our high performance street compound. The 1521 compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521 is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech 1521 operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800 F (426 C+). 1521 is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech 1521â is NOT recommended for ANY track use.
Carbotech AX6
The AX6 is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50 F to 1000 F + (10 C to 537 C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. Many drivers use the AX6 for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn't recommend street driving with AX6 due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6â is NOT recommended as a race compound in most applications.
Carbotech XP8
A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200 F-1250 F+ (93 C to 676 C+). Carbotech XP8 is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotech does NOT recommended XP8 as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotech XP8 is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers.
Carbotech XP10
When Carbotech unleashed the XP10 to the general public it immediately gathered multiple regional, divisional, and national championships. The XP10 has a very strong initial bite with a coefficient of friction and rotor friendliness unmatched in the industry. Fade resistance is in excess of 1475 F (801 C). XP10 still maintains the highly praised release, excellent modulation and rotor friendliness that have made all Carbotech compounds so successful. Carbotech XP10 is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.
