Real time coaching tells you how to go faster in each corner, with audio instructions, so you can keep your eyes up at all times. This is a stark contrast to existing systems which only provide feedback after a corner or after your session. The Catalyst uses your measured optimal lap to guide you to your personal maximum performance, rather than the performance of a professional racing driver. Overview:Garmin Catalyst uses accelerometers, GPS, video, and the most sophisticated algorithms to evaluate your driving performance and then suggest ways to improve (just like a human coach). Through the display and audio, Catalyst provides a real-time assessment of performance using both gentle suggestions and positive reinforcement. No, it won't clap when you get it right but it does use real-world phrases and encouragement - such as "brake less", "apex later", or "keep pushing". Catalyst is perpetually evaluating and assessing your performance so it can optimize your lap and get you in line. After your session, review track maps showing opportunities for improvement as well as "heat map" displays of deceleration, acceleration, apexes, and speeds. Display & Audio:Catalyst uses a 6.95" super wide view LCD IPS screen with vivid TFT colors. The LCD is a touchscreen, able to control functions without the need for a remote control, app, or a laptop. Coaching or playback audio is available via 3.5mm headphone jack or Bluetooth(TM) to your headset or car stereo. The on-screen layout is not programmable.CameraThis is more than just a camera - the remote pod includes the accelerometers. It records up to 30fps in 1080p HD in a 140 field-of-view. It must be mounted facing forward, high up, and centered on your windshield. An on-screen guide will help you align it. The camera contains the accelerometers and very powerful processing software integrates the video into Catalyst's coaching and data. Playback is available on the Catalyst screen with speed and lap times already in sync. Coaching:To unlock all of the coaching features and data you will need to select the Advanced setting. There is also a Basic setting that does not provide as much feedback. During your session, the real-time display is referencing current session data only. However, post-session review can include data from multiple sessions. Catalyst is looking for patterns in your driving to map out where you were fast and opportunities to try a different line, brake less, or carry more speed. The only voice currently available is a Siri-like female voice. Lap time differential is displayed as either red (slower), green (faster), or black (no change). From a student/novice perspective you may want to have an advanced driver/instructor set baselines in your car first. Then overlay that data with your own driving. This way Catalyst can see the full potential and make recommendations. It's important not to "chase" a lap time but to know what is capable and make incremental improvements to get there. Catalyst will never make a recommendation that hasn't been previously successful. Analysis & Review:Catalyst compiles all of its data to form a True Optimal Lap. This is your best possible lap using all of the data you provided in your sessions. True Optimal Lap is determined not just by lap and sector times but by analyzing your best lines through corners and sectors and using the camera feed to identify track limits. Catalyst retains your track data over a 4-day period so you can pack in a full weekend of driving with progressive coaching and analysis. Post-session data is reviewed through the screen or through the Garmin Connect(TM) smartphone app, including video. Export of data or video files to a laptop is not currently supported nor is it needed. Everything you need is self-contained in the tablet. Catalyst works best when used as a standalone tool to review performance and make adjustments while at the track. In the Box: Garmin Catalyst 32GB microSD pre-installed under covered compartment (auxiliary card slot on the side of the Catalyst device is externally accessible for memory expansion) Remote Cam with polarized lens cover Remote Cam 3.5 meter cable Heavy-duty vehicle suction cup Powered magnetic mount Two 1” connecting arms 1” arm connector Cable clips Socket power cable Documentation Included Accessories: One-inch ball adapter screw down mount USB data cable 12V bare wire vehicle power cable Additional Remote Cam adhesive Continue reading to see how and why the Garmin Catalyst Driving Performance Optimizer is unlike anything you've ever experienced. Heck... it's unlike anything you've ever even thought possible!
AiM Sports SmartyCam 3 Data Logger Camera
AiM Sports AiM Sports SmartyCam 3 Data Logger Camera $899.00
AiM Sports SmartyCam 3 Data Logger Camera The new AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport Sport takes AiM data system video to the next level. Specs include a resolution of 1920x1080 FHD with 60 frames per second utilizing H.264 (MPEG-4 Advanced Video Coding) to bring the best video quality of any AiM camera ever. Not a plastic "action-sports" camera, but a real motorsports camera built to the rigors that a race car demands. The AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport is the latest generation of the best in motorsports cameras. If you have an AIM dash and want to add great videos that include all the technical information that will help you improve your performance, the AiM SmartyCam Sport 3 is your answer. AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport Video Camera with Data Overlay Details: Manufacturer: AiM Manufacturer part number 67°: XS3S674U Manufacturer part number 84°:  XS3S844U Cable included length: 4M  Cable included end #1: 5 pin 712 male Cable included end #2: 5 pin 712 male Cable connection on camera: 5 pin 712 female Audio: Internal microphone inside the camera housing AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport Sport offers the ultimate in reliability and durability in the motorsports world. If you have an AIM dash or data logger and want to add great videos that include all the technical information that will help you improve your performance, the AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport Sport is the professional motorsports answer. Automatic On/Off AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport can be switched on/off automatically by the logger it is connected to: simply decide after what period of non-activity the camera will have to switch-off. Both operations can also be carried out using the keyboard, if you prefer. Recording can also be started/stopped automatically or via keyboard: the camera will start recording when the speed or RPM threshold is exceeded. You simply decide how long after dropping below the selected threshold the video will automatically stop. Straight Cut Dog Box/Solid Motor Mounts/Engine Harmonics Engine rumble causes vibrations, which are not a good thing for video recording. Never again will you experience that seasick "wave effect" you get when watching videos recorded by a generic camera, when the car rolls at 7000 RPM. AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport has been designed for that environment and for those vibrations. "Wave effect" is just a memory. Generic action cameras are designed to record videos in many different situations, such as skiing or surfing, but in motorsports they tend to record misleading videos. Those cameras straighten out the view ahead: when on track, the corners simply disappear. So, when you wish to check your track performance, those videos are useless, because the images are distorted. Being a camera dedicated to motorsports, AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport features lenses specifically designed to avoid distortion. The camera is available in two versions: 67 Degree & 84 Degree Real Time Data Overlay With no driver input, the AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport will automatically overlay on your videos all the data you need: speed, RPM, lap number, gear shifts and much more. Simply choose the data and the graphic layout you prefer in the huge selection of overlays available. What Kind of Data? AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport Sport overlays data from different sources on the videos themselves. From GPS: track map and vehicle position, as well as speed, lap and split times. From Aim logger connected to your ECU: RPM, throttle, engaged gear, acceleration, temperatures, pressures and in the presence of additional sensors, also their values. All these info will be overlayed on videos in each single point of the track. Smarty Manager 3 Software With SmartyManager 3, AiM SmartyCam 3 Sport dedicated software, you can add your logo and the track map on videos. The wide choice of graphic objects you can select allows you to choose from a list of pre-determined sets with the same layout or to choose single objects from different sets. Now, your videos will be truly “yours” in all details, from data to their graphic layouts.

X08HB2GK3) will host the GPS module and the SmartyCam CAN cable on its two ports; the DataHub will also provide an external 12V cable, to be connected to an external power supply, mandatory for this kind of use. Being a modified version, this SmartyCam/GPS DataHub will not offer the possibility to connect to an existing AiM datalogger, which in case will manage the GPS and the SmartyCam as usual. A standard two port DataHub will not work for this purpose.
