Keep Your Stilo ST5 Helmet Ventilated With The Stilo Top Air Kit For Maglock Systems Fresh air keeps you cool and keeps sweat from getting in your eyes as you take the checkered flag. This unique cooling system feeds air from your car’s fresh air system to both the top of your head and to the front of your face, while at the same time helping keep the inside of your visor clear. This system integrates into the existing design of the ST5 helmet and does not require any drilling of the shell or modifications to the internal EPS foam. There are six small ventilation holes molded into the top of every ST5 helmet. Stilo's Top Air system fits over the center four holes and extends down the front of the helmet and just under the top of the visor. Air fed into the Top Air is directed both to the top of the head and down over the face. A small deflector just inside the visor area directs air towards the visor and away from the eyes. Old air flows out of the top side holes on the top of the helmet and from the bottom of the helmet, significantly reducing CO2 buildup in the helmet. The Stilo ST5 series is unique in that the shield lock is located in the center position of the shield. The shield lock is released by squeezing the outboard sides together and that will then release it from the mount stud that is located in the center of the helmet. The reason for this is to "clean-up" the sides of the helmet where a side impact in a head containment seat may grab parts of the helmet. All Stilo ST5 shilds have the center release mechanism installed on it.All Stilo ST5 shields are treated with an anti-fog treatment and they do require special care. The best result we have by far is the Stilo Visor cleaner. Liberally spray the outside of the visor with the cleaner, and wipe in a single swipe with a micro fiber towel until clean and dry. If fingerprints or dirt remain, repeat as needed. A back and forth wiping motion will tend to leave lint from the rag on the visor, so the single pass works best. Repeat if necessary, but usually one pass works great.Stilo Visor Care: Do not use Windex or any glass cleaner containing ammonia, as this can harm the anti-scratch coating on the outside of the visor, and the anti-fog coating on the inside of the visor. Stilo ST5 Visor FIA8860-2018ABP Smoked Medium THIS VISOR IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH STILO ST5 FIA 8860-2018ABP HELMETS.  Previously, the FIA 8860 standards for F1 required a Zylon strip (exceptionally strong, bulletproof material) to be mounted onto the shield to cover a section of the helmet (along the edge of the visor opening of the shell) that was considered, well, slightly less impenetrable by dangerous impacts. Now, for 2019, a new helmet standard has been released - FIA 8860-2018-ABP (Advanced Ballistic Protection) This new standard builds the protection into the helmet shell and therefore eliminates the need for the Zylon strip. (the Zylon strip is still available for use on other Stilo ST5 helmets. It must be purchased in conjunction with the purchase of your new ST5 visor and built by Stilo. This is NOT an after market item that can be installed by the end user) This new standard drove the Stilo engineers to design and develop a new helmet - the Stilo ST5 FIA8860-2018ABP. With this new helmet design came a new shield design. While looking very similar to the standard Stilo ST5 visor, there is a slight shape difference in the height.
