Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader GDPS01
This indispensable tool is used by race teams, shops, and enthusiasts alike who have high performance four- and six-piston calipers. The Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader is designed to easily spread brake pads and pistons to facilitate quick replacement of pads and/or rotors in a shop or racing environment.
No more screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, or C-clamps! This tool will retract the pistons fully and evenly into their bores with one squeeze of the levers.
The Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader was designed to be used with popular racing brake calipers from Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, and other performance calipers in racing and road use. To help it fit into any caliper, the amount of throw is adjustable.
Insert the spreading plates one way for wider six-piston calipers, then turn the spreader 90o and use the plate sides for four-piston calipers.
The Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader is made from heavy-gauge steel, powder-coated for durability. The slider is cadmium-plated, and nylon pivot bushings ensure smooth action.
The Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader will quickly become an invaluable tool for any race team, shop, or enthusiast who changes pads and rotors frequently.

Pagid RSL 1 Compound:
Used in GT cars, touring cars and prototype endurance racing. Due to the high friction and good modulation, often used in sprint races as well. RSL 1 is a low metallic resin bonded material containing steel and aramid fibers with very high heat resistance. It maintains a constant friction level over a wide range of temperatures. Its reduced wear rate and disc friendliness make this material appropriate for endurance races.
In the 8091 pad shape, the RSL 1 comes in an RSL 1 Special compound, both specified for Brembo and Ford Multimatic applications.
Pagid RSL 19 Compound:
Pagid RSL 19 is a low metallic resin bonded material containing steel and aramid fibers. It maintains a constant friction level across a broad range of temperatures. The material features very good modulation and release characteristics. Rear axle usage in combination with RSL 1 or RSL 2 on the front axle in heavier cars (GT3/GTE). Front axle usage for lighter GT and touring cars.

RS 14 Compound:
The Pagid RS 14 (Black) is a high friction value ceramic compound with very good modulation and high fade resistance. A very popular, aggressive pad with strong initial bite and high torque. In addition to the track-day environment, RS14 has shown success in short- to medium-distance circuit racing as well as gravel and tarmac rallying.
RSL 29 Compound:
The Pagid RSL 29 (Yellow) is the world-leading endurance brake pad used by most of the winning teams in motorsport. Although designed primarily for endurance racing, many competitors use this material successfully for sprint and short distance races also. It is a semi-metallic resin bonded material containing steel fibers. Cold friction and initial bite makes this material most appropriate for Rally and NASCAR applications.

The Pagid RST 2 Racing Brake Pads are a medium to high-friction pad designed for Rally, Sprint and Stock car racing. With aggressive in-stop behavior, instant pedal engagement, and a consistently firm feel regardless of temperature, the RST-2 gives maximum power regardless of the conditions. The Girodisc system for the McLaren 600LT, 720S, 650S or 570S is a direct replacement for the OEM carbon ceramic rotors. No modifications are necessary, the Girodisc rotors will bolt directly to your McLaren and work with the original calipers without issue.
We recommend Pagid 4346 racing brake pads for this Girodisc system, in either RS29 (endurance) or RS14 (sprint) compound.
The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from cast iron to the same specification and material as used by professional racing organizations. It is a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc to our own specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads.Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed. When used with Pagid pads and high-temp racing brake fluid, you have a truly amazing, race-proven solution to the fragile, ultra-expensive carbon-ceramic rotors on your McLaren.

This Girodisc system for the McLaren 650S or 570S is a direct replacement for the OEM McLaren carbon ceramic front rotors1. It is an upgrade to a two-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination. These two-piece floating rotors will bolt directly to the car and work with your OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight, high-performance replacements (as opposed to a big brake kit), your factory brake bias is maintained, along with your ABS efficiency.
When used with the proper brake pads1 and high-temperature racing brake fluid, these Girodisc replacement rotors give you an excellent, race-proven solution to the fragile and expensive carbon-ceramic OEM rotors on your McLaren.
The central hat section of each Girodisc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured from cast iron constructed in the USA, made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotors' curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The two-piece Girodisc design allows for disc-only replacement as well, minimizing future replacement costs and delivering outstanding performance.

1 Note: These Girodisc rotors have a different annulus (pad swept area) than the OEM carbon-ceramic rotors, in order to maintain their light weight. A brake pad with an annulus of 66mm or less must be used with these Girodisc rotors.

The GiroDisc replacement rotor system is a direct rotor disc replacement for the Giro Disc 2-piece hat and rotor and no modifications are necessary.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes 8-10 high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by GiroDisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The 2-piece GiroDisc design allows for rotor only replacement to minimize replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.
