The Sabelt X-Pad is the perfect seat for those racing compact cars with limited interior space who still demand the safety of a full-containment seat. The X-Pad is Sabelt’s most compact seat yet, specifically designed to fit in smaller cockpits where drivers want the additional security of a full-containment / halo seat. Sabelt has managed to do this while keeping the interior seat dimensions able to fit most average racing drivers.
Sabelt has achieved the interior fit of the seat by replacing bulky seat padding with a significantly thinner, but still comfortable, foam padding. Exterior dimensions of the seat were reduced by changing key elements such as eliminating the "rolled" upper edges of the seat, which reduces the width significantly without narrowing the seat to the point where it would only fit small drivers.
The Sabelt X-Pad is a prime example of how game-changing innovation can be discovered in plain-sight; it doesn't always require a shake-up to standard conventions.

The drive pins transfer braking load while maintaining axial and radial float between the disc and hat to accomodate heat expansion. Hardened washers and anti-noise springs eliminate the rattle and noise sometimes associated with floating rotors.

The rotor utilizes a curved vane design, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high-strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their specifications and cadmium plated for a long lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the pads. Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor ring when needed.Sold/priced per pair.

These Girodisc rotors are a direct replacement for the OE rotors on the Super Trofeo with the addition of the provided caliper spacers. At 380mm diameter, these Girodisc rotors are slightly larger than the 365mm OEM rotors.
The Girodisc front rotors are 24.5 lbs vs. 27.0 lbs for the stock units. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory brake bias and ABS effecitveness are not compromised. The reduction in rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration, better brake feel, and more precise suspension response.
The central hat section of the Girodisc rotor is made from strictly USA-sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc's own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in house at Girodisc. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise springs on the disc side, allowing the iron disc to expand as it heats up while eliminating the rattle and noise commonly associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self center between the brake pads.
Once the Girodisc system is in place, you simply replace the cast iron discs when needed. This reduces cost over time by allowing you to re-use the aluminum central hats.
