CMS RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
from $21.95
Real-Life High Boiling Point Without The Real High Price
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid from CMS Performance is a fully-synthetic DOT4 brake fluid formulated to provide extraordinary performance under the most demanding high-temperature racing and track-day conditions. With a dry boiling point of 328º C (622º F), RF1 exceeds all DOT3 & DOT4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 fluids. (Not compatible with DOT5 or mineral-based brake fluids.)
On the race track, brake systems operate at very high sustained temperatures, and there is perhaps no single safety system more important in racing than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot.
So we did something about it. Manufactured in partnership with Orthene, the brake fluid supplier to many teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series, RF1 Racing Brake Fluid was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend more on brake fluid, but you can't buy higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!

Girodisc Brake Pad Spreader
This indispensable tool is used by race teams, shops, and enthusiasts alike who have high performance four- and six-piston calipers. The spreader is designed to spread brake pads and pistons in four- and six-piston calipers to facilitate quick replacement of pads and/or rotors in a shop or racing environment. No more screwdrivers, pliers, hammers, or C-clamps! This tool will retract the pistons evenly and all the way back into their bores with one squeeze of the levers. The Girodisc spreader was designed around popular four-piston and six-piston calipers from Brembo, AP Racing, Alcon, and other performance calipers in racing and road use. To help fit in any caliper, the amount of throw is adjustable.Insert the spreading plates one way for wider six-piston calipers, then turn the spreader 90o and use the plate sides for four-piston calipers. The Girodisc Pad Spreader is made from heavy-gauge steel and is powder-coated for durability. The slider is cadmium-plated, and nylon pivot bushings ensure smooth action. The Girodisc Pad Spreader will quickly become an invaluable tool for any race team, shop, or enthusiast who changes pads and rotors with any frequency.

RSL 29:
The PAGID RS29 (Yellow) is the world-leading endurance brake pad used by most of the winning teams in motorsport. The racing compound combines the outstanding wear rate of the RS19 with a slightly higher coefficient of friction and initial bite. Based on the RS14, A slight reduction of the friction value improves the modulation (controllability). Nevertheless, the friction value is enough for cars without power-assisted brake system and ensures comfortable low effort on the brake pedal. Constant temperatures up to 600°C (1,100°F) are possible. This combination of friction value, fading stability and low wear rates on pads and discs (rotors) is unmatched. Due to its excellent release characteristics and controllability PAGID endurance materials are also often used for sprint races.
Pagid RS29 with a very similar friction coefficient to RS19 with improvements in initial bite offering quicker response and slightly more temperature stable at the upper levels of the temperature range. Developments in raw material selection and compounding have resulted in improvements also in pedal feel and feedback, helping with modulation particularly on lighter applications.
This material provides very good levels of performance and response at all temperature levels, only slight temperature inputs are required to bring the pad up to its optimum performance level. Another favourite with endurance racers having won many classes at all major endurance events, such as Le-Mans, Daytona, Spa, Nurburgring, etc. Due to the exceptional pad life and very low wear on brake discs it has been possible to run 24 hours without a change of pads or discs. Able to withstand slightly higher disc temperatures than RS19, this has proved more suitable for applications running very high disc temperatures.
Although designed primarily for endurance racing, because of the consistent levels of performance and user friendliness many competitors use this material successfully for sprint and short distance races also. RS29 has also found favour in the growing track day market due to the level of control, good cold performance, long life and low disc wear.

RS 14:
The PAGID RS14 (Black) is a high friction value ceramic compound with very good modulation and high fade resistance. A very popular, aggressive pad with strong initial bite and high torque. In addition to the track-day environment, RS14 has shown success in short- to medium-distance circuit racing as well as gravel and tarmac rallying.
RSL1:
PAGID RSL1 has a high ceramic content with superior thermal insulation and higher heat resistance than metallic pad compounds. They feature excellent pad wear under endurance conditions, excellent rotor life, and are less aggressive than RST pads with excellent brake balance and modulation.

The Girodisc system is an upgrade to a two-piece steel rotor and aluminum hat combination as a direct replacement for the OEM brake discs. The two-piece floating rotors will bolt directly to the GT500 and work flawlessly with OEM calipers. By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight high-performance replacements, as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS effectiveness and efficiency. Girodisc rotors are lighter than OEM pieces; this reduction in rotational and unsprung weight (eight pounds per corner!) allows for quicker acceleration, stronger braking, and faster suspension response.
When used with Pagid racing brake pads and Discovery Parts RF-1 racing brake fluid, you have the best possible solution to overheating, cracking, and warping rotors.
The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured from cast iron constructed in the USA and is made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotors curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc.
The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high-strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to our own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by grade12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors.
The two-piece Girodisc design allows for rotor only replacement as well to minimize future replacement costs and deliver outstanding performance and cooling.
