CMS RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
from $21.95
CMS RF1 DOT4 Racing Brake Fluid
Real-Life High Boiling Point Without The Real High Price
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid from CMS Performance is a fully-synthetic DOT4 brake fluid formulated to provide extraordinary performance under the most demanding high-temperature racing and track-day conditions. With a dry boiling point of 328º C (622º F), RF1 exceeds all DOT3 & DOT4 requirements and is compatible with all DOT 3, 4, and 5.1 fluids. (Not compatible with DOT5 or mineral-based brake fluids.)
On the race track, brake systems operate at very high sustained temperatures, and there is perhaps no single safety system more important in racing than your brakes. No single part of that system is more critical than brake fluid. At CMS Performance, we got tired of (and a little nervous) using "racing" brake fluid at the race track that didn't live up to its claimed performance when things got hot.
So we did something about it. Manufactured in partnership with Orthene, the brake fluid supplier to many teams in Formula 1, WEC, and other professional series, RF1 Racing Brake Fluid was formulated to maintain consistent viscosity, lubricity, and compressibility at the extreme system temperatures and line pressures found in racing and track days.
The bottom line is this: you can spend more on brake fluid, but you can't buy higher-performance than RF1 Racing Brake Fluid.
RF1 Racing Brake Fluid Details

A Word About Flushing Brake Fluid
All brake fluid degrades over time (not mileage), attracting water as it ages, which, at high brake temperatures, can lead to fluid boil and brake fade or failure. That's why the "wet" (aged) boiling point of any brake fluid is substantially lower than the "dry" (new) boiling point.
To maintain maximum braking performance, Competition Motorsport strongly suggests replacing your brake fluid before every track event, but at least every three months if you're consistently racing and/or driving at track days. It's cheap insurance against learning about brake fade the hard way!

Girodisc GT350 - Front Rotor Rings Fitment:
2016-2020 Ford Shelby GT350 (S550) w/ Girodisc Rotor Hats
The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OE disc. No modifications are necessary. The disc will bolt directly to the car and work with OE calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight high-performance replacements as opposed to a big brake kit, your factory bias is maintained as well as your ABS efficiency. The central hat section of Girodisc's rotor is made from the strictly U.S. sourced 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is made from Girodisc's own proprietary cast iron, poured in the USA and machined from start to finish in-house at Girodisc. The rotor utilizes 48 curved directional vanes, developed in racing to act as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed.Sold/priced per pair.
Girodisc Advantages:GiroDisc brake kits are seen at every track weekend on very exotic and extreme track cars. What made GiroDisc owners leave their OEM rotors and upgrade to a 2 piece GiroDisc kit?
Less Rotating Mass via 2 piece design
Lightweight 6061-T6 Aluminum Hat
Grade 12 floating hardware to allow the rotor to grow when heated
Curved vane design creates a cooler rotor
Significant cost reduction compared to OEM
GiroDisc Rotor Hat:The GiroDisc front central is manufactured using aircraft grade 6061-T6 aluminum. Less weight creates a huge advantage in acceleration and braking. Anyone who has spent the money on a lightweight double-disk clutch kit with aluminum flywheel knows the importance of rotating mass. Using a lightweight rotor kit allows the brakes to decelerate the vehicle, not the rotor. GiroDisc Floating Rotor Ring:Quality hi-carbon cast iron is the foundation of every GiroDisc brake rotor. Every rotor ring is made carefully in house at the GiroDisc factory in Washington state. The GiroDisc rotor utilizes a curved vane design that was originally developed in racing to act as a centrifugal air pump to force cooling air from the center of the rotor ring to the outside. This principle is similar to what is know as a squirrel cage fan design. By having impellers (vanes) between the two rotor faces, the air is moved radially, from the center outward, changing the direction of the airflow and increasing velocity. This design is mechanically strong, reliable, and very effective. GiroDisc Rotor Ring Hardware:The GiroDisc rotor ring and light-weight aluminum hat have a floating mount system, which utilizes 8 or 10 high strength alloy steel drive pins, manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and cadmium plated for long-lasting corrosion resistance. These drive pins take the load from braking actions while maintaining the axial and radial float between the hat and disc. The drive pins are secured by grade 12 cap screws with hardened washers. In order to keep the rotors from making noise when cold, the pins are mounted with anti-noise spring washers on the rotor side which allow the rotor to grow with heat expansion but eliminate the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. This float also allows the rotor to self-center between the pads.GiroDisc Rotor Ring Replacement:Once the Girodisc system is in place, simply replace the cast iron rotor when needed. Your GiroDisc replacement rotor rings come complete with 2 new rotor rings and all required floating rotor hardware. This is a very simple task that is quite fun. The aluminum rotor hat usually does not ever need replacement unless bent or damaged. If you damaged has reached your GiroDisc hat, you likely have more than a few other things to replace also. The hat is rugged and overly strong.
