A pedal travel sensor such as this can be simpler to install in many vehicles than plumbing a pressure sensor in the brake line. Normally mounted in front of the brake pedal (between the driver and the pedal) so the sensor is depressed when the brakes are off. This will reduce the likelihood of sensor damage or interference with pedal travel in the event of brake fade. The sensor should be mounted close to the pedal pivot, and at an angle that minimizes side loading on the plunger. The compact sensor body measures just 3/4" (19mm) OD x 1 3/8" (35mm) long overall (less plunger). Two 1/4" (6mm) mounting holes are located 1.34" (34mm) center-to-center.
