DS3.12Released in 2019, the DS3.12 represents the latest advancement in Ferodo's renowned DS line. In the realm of sports cars, the demands placed on brake systems have intensified, with increased horsepower, sophisticated aerodynamics, higher curb weights, and stickier tires. Addressing these demands head-on, the Ferodo DS3.12 is a modern pad compound meticulously designed to cater explicitly to these challenges. Extensive testing has revealed that, among all pad compounds from various manufacturers, the DS3.12 exhibits the most consistent torque curve across a wide temperature range. Consequently, whether you're tackling turns, driving on any track or completing lap after lap, the brake pedal response remains remarkably consistent, offering exceptional reliability and repeatability. With a higher mu (friction coefficient) compared to Ferodo's other compounds, the DS3.12 requires less leg pressure to initiate the desired braking performance. Furthermore, it exhibits superior fade resistance, ensuring optimal performance at any temperature your brakes may encounter. Dyno testing has demonstrated that the DS3.12 maintains superior wear rates while being gentle on the discs. As a result, we anticipate the DS3.12 will establish itself as the benchmark against which other race compounds are measured.DS1.11The DS1.11, in contrast to the DS3.12, possesses a lower mu at all temperatures, making it a moderate mu pad in the realm of endurance racing compounds. It necessitates greater pedal force compared to the DS3.12 and exhibits a slight decline in torque as temperatures rise. Consequently, as you push deeper into a turn with increasing heat, you may find yourself applying more pressure on the brake pedal to achieve the same response—a sensation preferred by some drivers. Certain drivers find the DS1.11 to be more manageable when using street tires, particularly as it is less prone to activating the ABS system. While the DS1.11 offers a longer lifespan compared to many other pad compounds on the market, it falls slightly short of the longevity of the DS3.12. When maintained with a proper pad transfer layer, it remains gentle on discs even at elevated track temperatures. While the DS1.11 boasts excellent maximum temperature tolerance and fade resistance, it does not quite reach the same levels as the DS3.12. To date, we have not received reports of fading issues with the DS1.11, and most individuals differentiate between the DS1.11 and DS3.12 based on their respective tactile experiences.DS2500While we always recommend using dedicated race pads for track use, the DS2500 stands out as one of the premier hybrid street/track pads available. It combines the advantages of a track pad, such as a moderately high bite and solid fade resistance, with the comparatively lower levels of dust and noise typically associated with street pads. As a street pad, it may produce some squealing noise in specific vehicle applications, particularly when driven aggressively. For individuals who engage in spirited street driving, canyon runs, autocross, and occasional light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is hard to surpass.
DS3000
The predecessor to DS1.11, DS3000 offers high initial bite with excellent feel and release. Popular among rally teams, DS3000 has a relatively low cold temperature threshold while still offering high temp stability for tarmac. DS3000 is very easy on discs at the expense of pad wear.

Bell Kart Racing Helmet – Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Remember that safety is paramount in kart racing, and choosing the right helmet and maintaining it properly is essential for your protection on the track. Consult the professionals at any time you have specific questions about your racing helmet.
What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Bell KC7 CMR is widely considered one of the best karting helmets, offering a carbon shell, Snell K2020 certification, and premium features for serious kart racers.
Why do I need a racing helmet?Auto and kart racing helmets are essential for protecting your head in high-speed accidents. They also shield against debris and, in some motorsports, fire—making them a non-negotiable safety requirement.
How do I choose the right size Kart Racing helmet?Use a flexible tape to measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Compare the measurement to Bell’s sizing chart. For more help, read our blog on how to fit your helmet properly at .
What safety standards should I look for in a kart racing helmet?Look for the Snell K2020 certification for karting. It ensures your helmet meets rigorous standards for impact protection. Unlike DOT (for street use), K2020 is designed specifically for motorsports.
Can I use a motorcycle helmet for kart racing? No. Motorcycle helmets lack the kart-specific certifications and features like proper ventilation and impact resistance optimized for karting. Always use a helmet rated for motorsport competition.
How often should I replace my kart racing helmet?Replace your helmet every few years depending on usage and the manufacturer's guidance. If it’s been dropped, involved in an impact, or shows signs of wear, replace it immediately.
Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones?Yes, typically. While both must meet minimum safety standards, premium helmets offer lighter materials, better fit, improved aerodynamics, and enhanced comfort, all of which impact race performance and fatigue.
How do I maintain and clean my kart racing helmet?Clean the exterior and interior using a helmet-specific care product like the Molecule Helmet Care Kit. Avoid submerging the helmet or using abrasive cleaners. Visors should be cleaned gently to avoid scratching.
Do I need to wear a balaclava under my kart racing helmet? While not required for all karting events, a balaclava enhances comfort, keeps your helmet liner clean, and helps wick sweat. Fire-rated balaclavas are mandatory in sanctioned auto racing and recommended for high-performance karting.
Is the Snell K rating important?Yes. The Snell K2020 certification is the most widely accepted kart helmet standard, required by many racing series to ensure safety and performance.
Can I wear glasses with my kart racing helmet?Yes. Wide eye ports, make it compatible with most prescription glasses and racing eyewear. A good fit ensures the glasses remain stable and fog-free.
Are carbon fiber helmets better?Carbon fiber helmets are lighter and stronger, reducing fatigue during long races while offering excellent impact protection. They are a top choice for competitive drivers.
Can I use a used helmet for racing? It’s not recommended. Damage or degradation may not be visible, and older helmets might not meet current safety standards. Always buy new from an authorized dealer like .
How can I prevent helmet fogging during races?Use a visor with built-in anti-fog technology like Bell’s DSAF system, or apply an anti-fog spray or insert. Keeping your helmet well-ventilated also helps.
What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation?Good ventilation helps manage heat and moisture inside the helmet, reducing fatigue and keeping you focused throughout your race.
How do I store my kart racing helmet between races?Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a padded helmet bag like our Evo Helmet Bag to prevent damage during transport or storage.
What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications?Snell K2020 is designed for adult karting helmets, focusing on impact protection. CMR2016 is tailored for drivers under 15, offering a lighter helmet to reduce neck strain while maintaining safety standards.
Are tear-off visors necessary for kart racing?Tear-off visors are beneficial in maintaining clear vision during races by allowing drivers to remove a dirty visor layer quickly. They are especially useful in outdoor karting where debris and dirt are common.
How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use?Helmets should be inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage. If a helmet has been involved in a significant impact or shows signs of degradation, it should be replaced immediately. Additionally, helmets should be replaced every 5 years, even if no damage is visible. Can I customize my kart racing helmet?Yes, many manufacturers offer customization options for fit and aesthetics. However, any modifications should not compromise the helmet's structural integrity or safety certifications.
Where can I buy a certified racing helmet?Buy from trusted experts like , online or in-person at any of our retail locations located around the USA. We carry all major brands, including Arai, Bel, Stilo, and Schuberth, and support hundreds of racing events across the country.

THE ULTIMATE NEW ROLL BAR FOR THE PORSCHE 992 GT3 & GT3RS
The CMS Performance Clubsport Roll Bar is an exciting new variant of the incredibly popular GT3/GT3RS roll bar. Re-designed with steel gusseting and high-strength support tubing is added to the top and bottom of the X-brace and to all four corners, the CMS Performance Clubsport Roll Bar takes rigidity and strength to another level.
This is the strongest, highest quality bolt-in roll bar on the market for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS, period. In designing and building the CMS Performance Clubsport roll bar, structural rigidity and impact protection were the primary goals. This roll bar is fully 360o TIG welded, the main tubing is 1.75" Docol R8 Advanced High-Strength Steel. CMS Performance is the only roll bar manufacturer to employ this modern material. The support tubing is Docol R8 as well, and the gussets are machined from steel plate.
CMS Performance tailors the GT3/GT3RS Clubsport roll bar to take full advantage of the strongest chassis mounting points in the Porsche 992 GT3/GT3RS. The main roll hoop is X-braced and gusseted, with a single tube cross-bar providing lateral strength that's also used for mounting racing harness shoulder straps.
ATTENTION TO DETAIL IS THE HALLMARK OF CMS PERFORMANCE
The cross-bar on the CMS Performance Clubsport Roll Bar for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS lets you attach your racing harness shoulder straps at the proper angle (0° to -20° front-to-back) and distance relative to the driver and passenger, regardless of seat position.
The CMS Performance Clubsport Roll Bar was designed to leave your rear view unobstructed by additional bracing that other roll bars require due to the use of inferior materials.
CMS Performance also features a unique three-piece rear kicker that bolts to the Porsche 992 GT3/GT3RS rear shock towers (where the factory GT3 Cup Car roll cage mounts). These are the strongest rear mounting points, and also add rigidity to the chassis for more precise handling. This kicker design is incredibly strong while also being a breeze to install (typical one-piece designs can be a nightmare to install). The main roll hoop is mounted to your Porsche's steel frame structure beneath the vehicle just like the factory Cup Car cage.
BUILT LIKE A TANK, FINISHED LIKE A PORSCHE
Designed using the same guidelines as a full racing roll cage and fully 360o TIG welded by our chassis fabricators and master welders, the CMS Performance Clubsport Roll Bar for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS is unsurpassed in quality, durability, and structural integrity. Each roll bar is professionally powder-coated in-house to guarantee fit and finish no other manufacturer can match. This also lets us use powder coat colors we've matched to Porsche GT3 and GT3RS OEM paint colors for a truly customized aesthetic1. We also offer custom technical powder coat finishes like the amazing Superchrome! Or you can choose our rich satin black powder coat for a more low-key installation. Powder coating any color you choose is included in the price of your CMS Performance roll bar.
DON'T SETTLE FOR ANYTHING BUT THE VERY BEST
Thoughtful engineering and design, superior materials, masterful fabrication, and beautifully customized finishing. That's the CMS Performance way of doing things. Backed by our legendary customer service, it all adds up to this: you can pay more for a roll bar, but you can only get the best from CMS.
ADD PREMIUM RACING HARNESSES TO YOUR PORSCHE
Add six-point Schroth Enduro 2x2 GT3, Schroth Flexi 2x2 GT3, or Sabelt Silver Series GT3 racing harness to your order and save! These harnesses are specifically designed for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS and will bolt to your factory lightweight carbon bucket seats.
Or you can add four-point Schroth Profi II ASM GT3 or Sabelt Porsche GT3 4 Point harnesses, ideal for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS passenger seat that doesn't have a factory sub-strap pass through.
With six-point harnesses, we strongly recommend using the CMS Performance Sub Strap Mount to provide a solid, properly located anchor for your anti-submarine straps. The CMS Performance Sub Strap Mount is simple to install at the same time you're installing your roll bar!
STRAIGHTFORWARD INSTALLATION TAKES THE HEADACHE OUT OF A ROLL BAR
We've been through more than a few wrestling matches installing bolt-in roll bars in street cars. Fortunately, we used that experience to design the CMS Performance Roll Bar for the Porsche 992 GT3 and GT3RS to be a lot less frustrating to install. Check out the installation instructions here. We hesitate to go so far as to say it's easy, but we'll say it isn't hard if you have a friend and some basic tools.

The Sparco Ultra seat is the lightest FIA 8859-1999 seat in the Sparco range at only 11.4lbs. It is constructed with light weight QRT Technology. The Sparco Ultra seat is revolutionary because it was designed to be used without a cover or padding to minimize weight and maximize performance. This allows for a lower seating position and also better feedback from the chassis of your race car. The Sparco Ultra shell has both form and function. It has an extremely comfortable shape that is contoured for the body with the perfect amount of recline and lumbar support. The Sparco Ultra race seat was designed to fit into very narrow cockpits but still offer sizing that fits a standard to large size driver. The Sparco Ultra is FIA 8859-1999 approved.
WHAT IS QRT?Designed and developed at the Sparco OEM Composite Laboratory in Italy, QRT is a patented state-of-the-art technical process, based on aerospace technologies.QRT creates an unparalleled mechanical strength to weight ratio. This innovative production method generates the lightest fiberglass composite seat shells currently on the market; in fact, it guarantees a reduction in total weight of up to 30% compared to traditional production methods. The QRT seats approach the weight of a comparable carbon fiber seat at a lower price point.Sparco Ultra Race Seat SizingMedium / Large (up to 36” waist) Sparco Ultra Race Seat - TechnologyUltralight light weight QRT Technology shellExcellent fitment into small narrow vehicle cockpitsExcellent ergonomicsLower Seating positionFIA 8859-1999 approved

Sparco EVO Carbon Fiber Racing Seats
As Sparco's most well known competition seat, it was a no-brainer to provide the refreshed Evo with Sparco's QRT Ultra-Light Technology. Not content to leave well enough alone, Sparco went a step further by improving the overall fit and feel of the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber. Starting with the shoulder bolsters, Sparco trimmed down the width to help fitment into smaller cars without sacrificing support. Sparco then lowered the side bolsters just enough to improve ingress/egress into/out of the car. Finally, the shoulder belt guides have been raised for improved harness fit in all drivers. With small sports cars in mind (the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber fits perfectly in a Miata!), the Sparco Evo Carbon Fiber is sure be a mainstay at the track!
The EVO Carbon is the all-carbon fiber version of the EVO QRT. It is constructed with “Pre-Preg” aerospace grade carbon fiber, also known as Dry Carbon. EVO Carbon is one of the lightest carbon fiber seats on the market. It weighs less than 10lbs (shell only) and 12lbs (with padding and cover). The EVO Carbon is has excellent fitment into smaller cockpits. The EVO series of seats feature the most back angle rake of all Sparco seats for a very comfortable driving position. It also has high grip material in strategic places such as the shoulder bolsters and seat bottom to aid in lateral support. The EVO Carbon is FIA 8859-1999 approved.

DS3.12
Released in 2019, the DS3.12 is the latest evolution in Ferodo's incredible DS line. Sports cars today have more of everything: more horsepower, more sophisticated aero, higher curb weights, and stickier tires. These attributes place serious demands on a vehicle's brake system. The Ferodo DS3.12 is the modern pad compound designed from the start to explicitly to handle those demands. Out of all the pad compounds we've ever tested, from all manufacturers, the DS3.12 shows the flattest torque curve across the broadest temperature range. That means that on every turn, on every track you drive, on every lap, your brake pedal is going to feel almost exactly the same, providing tremendous consistency and repeatability. The DS3.12 has a higher mu than Ferodo's other compounds, so not as much leg pressure is required to initiate the desired response. It is also unfadable, showing no drop in performance at any temp your brakes will ever see. In dyno testing, the DS3.12 has shown superior wear rates to the other Ferodo compounds, while remaining kind to the discs. We believe the DS3.12 will become the gold standard to which other race compounds will be compared.
DS1.11
The DS1.11 has a lower mu than the DS3.12 at all temperatures and can be characterized as a moderate mu pad vs. other endurance racing compounds. They require more pedal force than the DS3.12, and they have a slightly declining torque curve as temperatures rise. As they get hotter and you dive deeper into a turn, you may feel like you need to push a little harder on the brake pedal to elicit the same response (which is a feel many drivers actually prefer). Some drivers feel that the DS1.11 is more controllable on street tires than DS3.12 since ABS cannot be activated as easily. It will last a fairly long time vs. many other pad compounds on the market but does not last quite as long as the DS3.12. They are very gentle on discs at track temperatures when a proper pad transfer layer is maintained. The DS1.11 also has an outstanding max temp and fade resistance, just not quite as high as 3.12. We're not aware of anyone who has faded them, and most people differentiate between the DS1.11 and DS3.12 based on feel.
DS2500
Although we always recommend using a dedicated race pad for the track, the DS2500 is one of the best hybrid street/track pads on the market. It features the moderately high bite and solid fade resistance of a track pad, with the relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on certain vehicle platforms. If you drive aggressively on the street, do some canyon runs, autocross, and maybe some light track duty on street tires, the DS2500 is tough to beat. When used on track by 3,000+ lbs. cars with high horsepower and R Compound tires, DS2500 pad wear rates tend to be considerably higher vs. Ferodo Racing's other compounds. If you're looking for extended wear rates under those conditions, Essex would recommend the Ferodo DS1.11 or DS3.12.
