A1-146 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors -
Girodisc A1-146 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors $1,750.00
A1-146 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors FITMENT: Porsche 991 GT3/GT3RS/GT2RS, Front (2014+) with steel brakes The Girodisc system is a direct replacement for the OEM front rotors on the Porsche 991 GT3, GT3RS, and GT2RS with OEM iron rotors. No modifications are necessary, including full use of factory unmodified pads unlike most aftermarket solutions for this application. The GIrodisc rotors will bolt directly to your car and work with OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with lightweight, high performance replacements -- as opposed to a big brake kit -- your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are preserved. The central hat section of the disc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The disc is manufactured from cast iron constructed in the USA, made to the same specification with the same material used by professional racing organizations. The rotors' curved vane design was developed in racing and acts as a centrifugal pump to force cooling air through the disc. The rotor and hat mount together through a floating mount system which utilizes ten high strength alloy steel drive pins manufactured by Girodisc in the USA to their own specifications and are cadmium plated for corrosion resistance. The alloy drive pins transfer the load from the brake action while maintaining the axial and radial float between the disc rotor and hat. The pins are secured by Grade-12 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. The two-piece Girodisc design allows for disc-only replacement as well, minimizing future replacement costs and delivering outstanding performance. Sold/priced per pair.
A1-154 Girodisc 2pc Front Brake Rotors for Porsche 992 GT3/GT3RS PCCB
Girodisc A2-154 Girodisc 2pc REAR Brake Rotors for Porsche (OEM PCCB) $1,950.00
A2-154 Girodisc 2pc REAR Brake Rotors for Porsche (OEM PCCB) Fits The Following Cars With OEM PCCB: Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 GT3 Porsche 991.1 and 991.2 GT3RS Porsche 991.2 GT2RS Porsche 718 Cayman GT4RS This 390mm Girodisc conversion system is a rear rotor direct replacement for any Porsche 991 GT3, GT3RS, GT2RS, and GT4RS originally equipped with PCCB brakes. These two-piece floating iron rotors will bolt directly to the car and work with your OEM calipers perfectly. By upgrading your brakes with these lightweight, high-performance Girodisc rotors (paired with the A1-154 front rotors), your factory brake bias and ABS efficiency are maintained. The low rotational and unsprung weight allows for quicker acceleration and transient suspension response. Most racers replace the factory PCCBs with steel two-piece rotors to avoid the inevitable damage to the fragile carbon ceramic discs when swapping wheels at the track! When used with Pagid or PFC performance brake pads and CMS RF1 racing brake fluid, you have an powerful, durable solution to cracked or broken carbon-ceramic rotors at a fraction of the cost of replacing the factory PCCB units. The central hat section of each Girodisc is made from 6061-T6 aircraft specification aluminum. The pins are secured by class 12.9 cap screws with hardened washers and mounted with anti-noise spring washers to allow for heat expansion while eliminating the rattle and noise associated with floating rotors. The two-piece Girodisc design allows for disc-only replacement as well, minimizing future replacement costs and delivering outstanding performance. Sold/priced per pair.

Kart Racing Helmet FAQs Remember that safety is paramount in kart racing, and choosing the right helmet and maintaining it properly is essential for your protection on the track. Consult the professionals at Discovery Parts any time you have specific questions about your racing helmet. Why do I need a racing helmet?Auto and kart racing helmets are essential for protecting your head in high-speed accidents. They also shield against debris and, in some motorsports, fire—making them a non-negotiable safety requirement. How do I choose the right size Kart Racing helmet?Use a flexible tape to measure the circumference of your head just above your eyebrows and ears. Compare the measurement to the size chart. For more help, read our blog on how to fit your helmet properly at Discovery Parts. Can I use a motorcycle helmet for kart racing? No. Motorcycle helmets lack the kart-specific certifications and features like proper ventilation and impact resistance optimized for karting. Always use a helmet rated for motorsport competition. How often should I replace my kart racing helmet?Replace your helmet every few years depending on usage and the manufacturer's guidance. If it’s been dropped, involved in an impact, or shows signs of wear, replace it immediately. Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones?Yes, typically. While both must meet minimum safety standards, premium helmets offer lighter materials, better fit, improved aerodynamics, and enhanced comfort, all of which impact race performance and fatigue. How do I maintain and clean my kart racing helmet?Clean the exterior and interior using a helmet-specific care product like the Molecule Helmet Care Kit. Avoid submerging the helmet or using abrasive cleaners. Visors should be cleaned gently to avoid scratching. Do I need to wear a balaclava under my kart racing helmet? While not required for all karting events, a balaclava enhances comfort, keeps your helmet liner clean, and helps wick sweat. Fire-rated balaclavas are mandatory in sanctioned auto racing and recommended for high-performance karting. Can I wear glasses with my kart racing helmet?Yes. Wide eye ports, make it compatible with most prescription glasses and racing eyewear. A good fit ensures the glasses remain stable and fog-free. Are carbon fiber helmets better?Carbon fiber helmets are lighter and stronger, reducing fatigue during long races while offering excellent impact protection. They are a top choice for competitive drivers. Can I use a used helmet for racing? It’s not recommended. Damage or degradation may not be visible, and older helmets might not meet current safety standards. Always buy new from an authorized dealer like Discovery Parts. What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation?Good ventilation helps manage heat and moisture inside the helmet, reducing fatigue and keeping you focused throughout your race. How do I store my kart racing helmet between races?Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a padded helmet bag like our Discovery Parts Evo Helmet Bag to prevent damage during transport or storage. What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications? Snell K2020 is designed for adult karting helmets, focusing on impact protection. CMR2016 is tailored for drivers under 15, offering a lighter helmet to reduce neck strain while maintaining safety standards. Are tear-off visors necessary for kart racing? Tear-off visors are beneficial in maintaining clear vision during races by allowing drivers to remove a dirty visor layer quickly. They are especially useful in outdoor karting where debris and dirt are common. How do I know if my helmet is still safe to use? Helmets should be inspected regularly for signs of wear or damage. If a helmet has been involved in a significant impact or shows signs of degradation, it should be replaced immediately. Additionally, helmets should be replaced every 5 years, even if no damage is visible. Can I customize my kart racing helmet? Yes, many manufacturers offer customization options for fit and aesthetics. However, any modifications should not compromise the helmet's structural integrity or safety certifications.

What is the best helmet for kart racing? The Stilo ST6 CMR Carbon Lite kart helmet is widely considered one of the best youth karting helmets, offering premium features for serious kart racers. Compare the measurement to the sizing chart. For more help, read our blog on how to fit your helmet properly at Competition Motorsport. What safety standards should I look for in a youth kart racing helmet? Look for the FIA CMR-2106 certification for karting. What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation?Good ventilation helps manage heat and moisture inside the helmet, reducing fatigue and keeping you focused throughout your race. How do I store my kart racing helmet between races?Store your helmet in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a padded helmet bag like our Competition Motorsport Evo Helmet Bag to prevent damage during transport or storage. What is the difference between Snell K2020 and CMR2016 certifications? CMR2016 is tailored for drivers under 15, offering a lighter helmet to reduce neck strain while maintaining safety standards. Are tear-off visors necessary for kart racing? Tear-off visors are beneficial in maintaining clear vision during races by allowing drivers to remove a dirty visor layer quickly. If a helmet has been involved in a significant impact or shows signs of degradation, it should be replaced immediately.
