Professional Refill/Re-Certification of Electrically-Actuated Fire Bottle NOTE: Before you send us your SPA Technique fire suppression system bottle, please print, fill out, and submit this Discovery Parts SPA Technique Re-Certification Form. SPA AFFF systems must be inspected and re-certified every two years. This service includes inspection of the bottle, dip tube and firing head; refilling with SPA AFFF fluid; nitrogen pressurization to factory specification; and FIA recertification when applicable. Additional charges apply if replacement of the firing head or other parts is required. SPA AFFF Refill & Re-Certification Details: Bottles that are not more than two years past the service-due date can be serviced. Bottles that are more than two years past their service-due date cannot be serviced (SPA and FIA requirement). Bottles over five years old must be hydrostatically tested before service at an extra cost (DOT requirement). Bottles over ten years old cannot be serviced (SPA and FIA requirement). Bottles originally designed for gas (Halon / FE-36) or dry chem (powder) cannot be retrofitted with AFFF. Please print, fill out, and submit this Discovery Parts SPA Technique Re-Certification Form. Shipping Your Fire Bottle If your fire bottle has been completely discharged, you can ship it to us empty via overnight, two- or three-day air, or ground. Once your bottle is serviced by Discovery Parts, however, DOT regulations require that we return your fire bottle via ground shipping. It can not be returned via air transport. Return UPS or FedEx ground shipping is included with this service. Do Not Discharge An Intact Fire Bottle If your SPA Technique electrically-actuated fire system certification has expired and it needs to be re-certified, our refill and re-certification service is typically all you will need. Do not discharge your fire bottle if it is still charged. If you discharged your SPA electrical fire system, you will need to either replace or re-arm the electrically actuated firing head. You can re-arm the firing head with the SPA-SP-02-001. A Note About Old Fire Bottles Older bottles with a single welded seam around the middle fail the new hydrostatic test about 99% of the time. Newer bottles with welded seams at each end have a much higher passing rate. If you have an older bottle, it is likely that the DOT will not allow us to refill it. In that case, we usually have new replacement bottles in stock and ready to ship. Carbotech makes many different compounds for your NB 1.8L Miata and for the track, the most popular set-up is XP10 Front and XP8 rear. This seems to balance out the Hoosier Spec tire to the suspension nicely. If you run a stickier tire, you want to start with XP10/XP8 and maybe go to XP12 after you determine you can handle the increased torque without getting into the ABS. How To Properly Bed In Carbotech Racing Brake Pads Manufacturer: Carbotech Manufacturer Part Number: CT635 [img-12122-left-large_default] BRAKE COMPOUNDS Carbotechâ 1521â The Carbotechâ 1521â is our high performance street compound. The 1521â compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521â is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotechâ 1521â operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800 F (426 C+). 1521â is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotechâ 1521â is NOT recommended for ANY track use. Carbotechâ AX6â The AX6â is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50 F to 1000 F + (10 C to 537 C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. Many drivers use the AX6â for street driving as well, even though Carbotechâ doesn't recommend street driving with AX6â due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6â is NOT recommended as a race compound in most applications. Carbotechâ XP8â A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200 F-1250 F+ (93 C to 676 C+). Carbotechâ XP8â is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotechâ does NOT recommended XP8â as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotechâ XP8â is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers. Carbotechâ XP10â When Carbotechâ unleashed the XP10â to the general public it immediately gathered multiple regional, divisional, and national championships. The XP10â has a very strong initial bite with a coefficient of friction and rotor friendliness unmatched in the industry. Fade resistance is in excess of 1475 F (801 C). XP10â still maintains the highly praised release, excellent modulation and rotor friendliness that have made all Carbotechâ compounds so successful. Carbotechâ XP10â is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotechâ XP12â Another highly successful XPâ series compound with an excellent initial bite, torque and fade resistance over and above the XP10â compound. XP12â has temperature range of 250 F to 1850 F+ (121 C to 1010 C+). The XP12â has that excellent Carbotechâ release and modulation that has made all other Carbotechâ compounds so successful. The XP12â is more rotor aggressive than XP10â , but compared to the competition the XP12â is still very rotor friendly. XP12â is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotechâ XP20â The latest iteration of the highly successful XPâ series of compounds. XP20â is a step up from the highly successful XP16â compound. With an extremely aggressive initial bite, linear torque curve and excellent fade resistance the XP20â is another major step in progression of the highly successful XPâ series line of compounds from Carbotechâ . XP20â has a temperature range of 275 F to 2000 F+ (135 C to 1093 C+). Carbotechâ XP20â maintains our tradition of having the outstanding release and modulation that has made all other Carbotechâ compounds so successful. Carbotechâ XP20â is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotechâ XP24â XP24â is the pinnacle compound of the extremely successful XPâ Series of compounds engineered by Carbotechâ . This compound is based on the same fundamentals that exist in all other Carbotechâ formulations. XP24â has even more initial bite, more overall bite, and more torque along with the most linear torque curve we have ever offered. The thermal characteristics are of the highest Carbotechâ offers along with one of the highest coefficient of friction ratings offered by anyone in the braking industry. This unique cooling system feeds air from your car's fresh air system to both the top of your head and to the front of your face, while at the same time helping keep the inside of your visor clear. This system integrates into the existing design of the ST5 helmet and does not require any drilling of the shell or modifications to the internal EPS foam. There are four small ventilation holes molded into the top of every ST5 & ST6 helmet. Stilo's Top Air system fits over the forward two holes and extends down the front of the helmet and just under the top of the visor. Air fed into the Top Air is directed both to the top of the head and down over the face. A small deflector just inside the visor area directs air towards the visor and away from the eyes. Old air flows out of the rear holes on the top of the helmet and from the bottom of the helmet, significantly reducing CO2 buildup in the helmet. Stilo's Top Air System can be fitted to all Stilo ST5 or ST6 model helmets.

Carbotechâ 1521â operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800 F (426 C+). 1521â is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotechâ 1521â is NOT recommended for ANY track use. Carbotechâ AX6â The AX6â is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50 F to 1000 F + (10 C to 537 C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. Many drivers use the AX6â for street driving as well, even though Carbotechâ doesn't recommend street driving with AX6â due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6â is NOT recommended as a race compound in most applications. Carbotechâ XP8â A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200 F-1250 F+ (93 C to 676 C+). Carbotechâ XP8â is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotechâ does NOT recommended XP8â as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotechâ XP8â is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers. Carbotechâ XP10â When Carbotechâ unleashed the XP10â to the general public it immediately gathered multiple regional, divisional, and national championships. The XP10â has a very strong initial bite with a coefficient of friction and rotor friendliness unmatched in the industry. Fade resistance is in excess of 1475 F (801 C). XP10â still maintains the highly praised release, excellent modulation and rotor friendliness that have made all Carbotechâ compounds so successful. Carbotechâ XP10â is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. Stilo ST5 Visor FIA8860-2018ABP Smoked Medium THIS VISOR IS ONLY COMPATIBLE WITH STILO ST5 FIA 8860-2018ABP HELMETS.  Previously, the FIA 8860 standards for F1 required a Zylon strip (exceptionally strong, bulletproof material) to be mounted onto the shield to cover a section of the helmet (along the edge of the visor opening of the shell) that was considered, well, slightly less impenetrable by dangerous impacts. Now, for 2019, a new helmet standard has been released - FIA 8860-2018-ABP (Advanced Ballistic Protection) This new standard builds the protection into the helmet shell and therefore eliminates the need for the Zylon strip. (the Zylon strip is still available for use on other Stilo ST5 helmets. It must be purchased in conjunction with the purchase of your new ST5 visor and built by Stilo. This is NOT an after market item that can be installed by the end user) This new standard drove the Stilo engineers to design and develop a new helmet - the Stilo ST5 FIA8860-2018ABP.
