Increased airflow and slower heat transfer to other brake components- AP Racing J Hook discs have a unique, high-count vane design that promotes airflow, heat evacuation, and rapid cooling. They don't rely on a large surface area to cool via radiation. The iron discs will move more air than your carbon ceramic's, and as a result they won't heat your brake pads, caliper pistons, and brake fluid up as quickly. You'll be able to run longer sessions without brake fade, and you'll enjoy the confidence that comes along with them. They'll also make any brake ducts that you have on the car more effective and useful. Huge range of compatible brake pad compounds- Iron discs will open up a much greater range of available brake pads. You'll be able to achieve a different feel, and tailor your brake setup depending on your needs and environment, whether that is running an AutoX or the most demanding racetrack in your area. You'll also likely be paying less per brake pad set than you were previously, and your pads will last longer. Inexpensive spare discs- You'll no longer have to spend thousands of dollars when it's time to replace your discs. AP Racing J Hook's typically only cost $400-600 per iron disc ring, so you won't have to stress about anything happening to them. They're inexpensive enough that you can always keep a spare set on hand, so you won't have to worry about any brake-related downtime when you're out at the track. Durability- Iron discs can take a beating. You can stash your spares in your race trailer, and you won't have to worry about handling them, covering them, dinging them, or chipping them when changing your wheels. As you can see, although iron discs do come with a slight weight penalty, they're still the smart choice if you run your car hard on the racetrack. They're the obvious solution that has been proven countless times on tracks around the world, at all levels of motorsport. Among iron disc choices, there are none better than AP Racing J Hooks. AP Racing J Hook Discs are the epitome of endurance racing components. They will hold up extremely well to any abuse you plan to throw at them. These discs have been proven time and again in professional racing, winning many races and championships (SRO, IMSA, WEC, Rolex, etc.). Two-piece Floating Design with Aluminum Hat As is the case with most metal, iron brake discs grow substantially when heated. As it is heated, a disc expands radially, increasing in diameter and circumference. One-piece disc designs run into problems when this occurs. Look at the picture below and imagine the disc is being heated on the track. As the disc expands, the outer edges of the disc are pulling away from the center of the disc, but there are no built-in provisions to allow for that expansion. The edges of the disc therefore pull, lift, and distort, which is called coning. Now imagine that disc vertical on the car, running in your caliper. Coning directly impacts the brake pads’ contact with the disc, leading to uneven wear and tapering, and even a long brake pedal. Two-piece discs on the other hand, compensate for the expansion of the disc as it heats. This is accomplished by building ‘float’ into either the disc itself, or the disc hat/bell. In this case, the float is in the disc. If you look closely at the picture below, you can see that the mounting holes for the hat attachment bobbins are not round. They are an oblong shape. These channels allow the hat mounting hardware to slide as the disc is heated and expands, allowing the disc to run true in the caliper without distortion. That means less distortion, stress cracks, and pad taper.

However, Safecraft will re-web your harnesses once for free, extending its life to four years. SMOOTH OPERATORS MADE IN AMERICA The adjusters are buttery smooth, far easier to adjust than any other set of racing harnesses we've tried (when you're in this business, you try them all). The mechanical components are of such high quality you won't believe they haven't been "precision-engineered" in Italy or Germany. We're happy to tell you Safecraft Restraints are made in America -- Chicago, in fact -- by Grand-Am and Tudor United Sports Car Championship driver Charles Espenlaub. SAFECRAFT 7 POINT RACING HARNESS FOR ELAN NP01 DETAILS SFI 16.5 certification Seven-point specialty harness specifically designed to fit the Èlan NP01 Head-and-neck restraint compatible 3"/2" shoulder belts Shoulder belts include wrap-around hardware to mount to a harness bar behind the driver Less bulky, more comfortable 2" lap belts with pull-down adjusters 2" belts are designed to cinch down lower on your hip bone Foam pulls at the ends of the belts make adjusting belts easy, even while wearing Nomex racing gloves Bungee tabs on the shoulder belts to hold them out of the way when not in use Available in Black or Red Safecraft harnesses have a special anti-sub tang integrated into the camlock. This tang must be properly positioned relative to the driver's legs. Because of this, we do not recommend Safecraft harnesses for multi-driver endurance teams in which drivers differ dramatically in size. For teams with similarly-sized drivers, however, this is the ideal harness for quick pit stops.

FITS: 2016+ Ferrari 488 models FEATURES: Autoclaved pre-preg dry carbon fiber with 1x1 3K plain weave matched to Ferrari factory carbon Clear-coated with automotive urethane, hand polished to a mirror finish OEM-perfect fit Installs in minutes without any modification Digitally 3D laser scanned for guaranteed fitment Autoclave formed in billet aluminum molds at more than 100 psi and 200 degrees Fahrenheit Experience the Difference of C3 Carbon Products Competition Carbon Components (C3 Carbon) has been steadily gaining in popularity amongst today high-performance driving enthusiasts due to several key factors that help C3 Carbon stand out in a market full of sub-par aftermarket offerings. Each C3 Carbon product is manufactured to provide perfect fit and extreme strength while reducing weight, maximizing quality and ensuring years of exceptional finish. We provide all of this for significantly less money than OEM parts. Every product we make uses pre-impregnated dry carbon formed in a CNC-machined billet aluminum mold which is manufactured by laser-scanning the OEM component(s) so you know you ll have a perfect fit, every time. Dry carbon is stronger and lighter than wet carbon, often weighing 1/3 of our competitors products. Our manufacturing methods also produce a smoother surface on each part for more dimensional accuracy; shaving edges, widening mounting holes and flexing pieces to make them fit are a thing of the past. C3 Carbon also applies an automotive urethane clear-coat which is U/V cured for durability and guarantees C3 Carbon parts won't yellow over time. Many of our competitors use wet carbon (which is heavier), and some use fiberglass with a carbon overlay (much heavier, as the carbon fiber has epoxy literally painted onto it). These materials and manufacturing methods produce a poor finish due to air contamination, and because the epoxy isn t applied uniformly throughout the weave. These products are also much weaker than C3 Carbon products. Finally, most competitors use a fiberglass mold, which is far less expensive but cannot maintain the strict tolerances we demand of our own products. In the end, the fit and finish simply cannot stand up to C3 Carbon products.

Always consult with the professionals at Discovery Parts and refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific questions about your racing helmet. Why do I need a racing helmet? Auto racing helmets are designed to protect drivers from head injuries and fire during high-speed races and crashes. They are a crucial safety component in motorsports. How do I choose the right size HJC Carbon Fiber helmet? You should measure your head's circumference using a flexible tape measure, then refer to the manufacturer's sizing chart to select the appropriate size helmet. Please review our blog posting on how to properly fit your new auto racing helmet from Discovery Parts. What safety standards should I look for in a racing helmet? Look for helmets that meet safety standards like Snell and FIA depending on your racing discipline. These standards ensure the helmet's safety and quality. DOT helmets are designed for street use and not for racing and track use. What's the difference between full-face and open-face, and helmets? Full-face helmets provide the most protection with a complete face shield, while open-face helmets cover the top and sides of the head. Can I use a motorcycle helmet for auto racing? No, motorcycle helmets do not provide the same level of protection as auto racing helmets, as they are designed for different purposes. It's recommended to use a helmet specifically designed for auto racing which includes fire protection in addition to impact protection. How often should I replace my HJC Carbon Fiber auto racing helmet? Auto racing helmets should be replaced every 5-10 years, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations and usage. If the helmet is involved in a crash, it should be replaced immediately. Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones? Safety standards dictate the minimum safety requirements, so even budget-friendly helmets can offer protection. However it’s important to consider how lower-priced helmets are meeting the required testing standards. More expensive helmets are lighter, smaller, are constructed of superior materials, and often come with additional features then less expensive helmets. How do I maintain and clean my HJC Carbon Fiber racing helmet? Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintenance. You should clean the exterior, interior and shield with the Molecule Helmet Care Kit. Do I need to wear a balaclava under my HJC Carbon Fiber racing helmet? Balaclavas are typically not required for Driver's Education events, however they make wearing a helmet much, much more comfortable. Balaclavas will provide fire protection (if fire rated), help keep your helmet lining clean and order free by absorbing the majority of sweat while using it, and additionally balaclavas make putting your helmet on and taking it off by protecting your ears and keeping from from folding over when you helmet is worn. Discovery Parts recommends balaclavas from Alpinestars, OMP, Sabelt, Sparco, and Stand21. If you are entering sanctioned auto racing events, balaclavas will be required for fire protection. Is the SNELL SA Rating important? The Snell SA2020 certification is a safety standard established by the Snell Memorial Foundation for auto racing helmets. It sets the criteria and requirements that helmets must meet to be considered safe and suitable for use in motorsport events. Snell SA2020 certification is highly regarded in the motorsports industry and is often required or recommended by racing organizations and events. It signifies that a helmet has passed rigorous testing to provide maximum safety for drivers in various motorsport disciplines, including road racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, and more. It's essential for drivers to check the specific safety standards required by the racing organizations they participate in to ensure compliance. Is the FIA helmet certification important? Yes, FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) certification is crucial for auto racing helmets, especially in the context of international motorsport events and many national and regional racing series in the USA. The FIA 8859-2015 standard is commonly associated with racing helmets used in various motorsport disciplines. Helmets certified to FIA 8859-2015 met the safety requirements set by the FIA and were widely accepted in many racing series Which helmet certification is the most stringent and the hardest to meet? The FIA 8860-2018 certification is considered the most stringent and advanced helmet certifications available for auto racing helmets, and it is often associated with top-tier motorsport categories like Formula 1. It's important to note that the FIA 8860-2018 helmets offer a high level of protection and their use is mandatory in many racing series. Drivers should always check the regulations of the racing series they intend to participate in to ensure compliance with helmet certification standards. Can I wear glasses with my HJC Carbon Fiber helmet? Most helmets have provisions for wearing glasses or goggles, but check the design to be sure. Most manufacturers feature helmet models with wider eye ports to better accommodate eye glasses. Are carbon fiber helmets better? Carbon fiber helmets are lightweight and strong, a top choice for racers. But remember, certification matters most. Can I use a used helmet for racing? It's best to buy a new helmet. Used helmets may have unseen damage or be out of date on safety standards. Can I buy replacement parts for my HJC Carbon Fiber helmet, like visors or padding? Many manufacturers offer replacement parts, including visors and padding, to extend your helmet's lifespan. How can I prevent helmet fogging during races? Anti-fog sprays and inserts are available to help keep your visor clear during races. What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation? Proper ventilation helps keep you cool and comfortable during races, reducing the risk of heat exhaustion. How do I store my HJC Carbon Fiber helmet between races? Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals in a bag designed to store your auto racing helmet, like the Discovery Parts Evo Helmet Bag. Where can I buy a certified racing helmet? You should only buy from a professional authorized dealer who has sold thousands of helmets. You can find all the best brands at Discovery Parts online at www.discoveryparts.com or visit our retail store at Atlanta Motorsports park or at one of the hundreds of race and track day events we attend and support. Remember, safety should always come first in auto racing. Choose a certified helmet that meets the necessary standards to protect yourself on the track.

The mechanical components are of such high quality you won't believe they haven't been "precision-engineered" in Japan or Germany. SMOOTH OPERATOR MADE IN AMERICA We're happy to tell you Safecraft Restraints are made in America -- Chicago, in fact -- by Grand-Am and Tudor United Sports Car Championship driver Charles Espenlaub. This Safecraft 6 Point Racing Harness comes with an SFI 16.5 rating. SFI-rated harnesses are typically good for two years, but Safecraft will re-web your harness one time at no charge, extending its life to four years. SAFECRAFT SFI 6 POINT RACING HARNESS 5010 DETAILS SFI 16.5 certified Your choice of snap hook or bolt-in mounting for sub and lap belts Shoulder belts include wrap-around hardware to mount to a harness bar behind the driver Head and neck restraint compatible 3"/2" shoulder belts.Less bulky and more comfortable 2" lap belts with pull-down adjusters 2" belts are designed to cinch down lower on your hip bone Foam pulls at the ends of the belts make adjusting belts easy, even while wearing nomex racing gloves Bungee tabs on the shoulder belts to hold them out of the way when not in use Available in Red or Black Safecraft harnesses have a special anti-sub tang integrated into the camlock. This tang must be properly positioned relative to the driver's legs. Because of this, we do not recommend Safecraft harnesses for multi-driver endurance teams with drivers who differ dramatically in size. For teams with similarly sized drivers, however, this is the ideal harness for quick pit stops!

Ferodo FCP4955H Details: Manufacturer: Ferodo Manufacturer part number: FCP4955H-N Pads in box: 4 Primary Use: Street Performance & Light Track Application: Touring Car, GT, Single Seat Track day & light race use for all vehicle types Average Coefficient of Friction: 0.41µ Temperature Range C: 0 - 500 C Temperature Range F: 32 - 932 F Ferodo DS2500 Brake Compound Details:The Ferodo DS2500 is the best hybrid street and track day pad available. Designed for driving on the street, mountain runs and light track day with a stable average friction coefficient of 0,41 over a wide working temperature range of 32 to 932 F, (0 to 500 C)Featuring a moderately high initial bite and the solid fade resistance of a trackpad, but with relatively low dust and noise levels of a street pad. When the Ferodo DS2500 is used as a street pad, it can produce some squeal on most vehicle platforms. The most common use of the Ferodo DS2500 is mountain runs, autocross, and some light track duty on street tires in colder temperatures. When used on track on heavy (3,000+ lbs.+) track cars with high horsepower and R Compound tires, the DS2500 pad wear rates tend to be considerably higher vs. Ferodo Racing's other compounds. Do not expect to win the WRL GTU class on Ferodo DS2500 brake pads, but it is the perfect dual purpose street and light track day pad.
