Atlanta Motorsports Park Open Track Day on Friday June 14th, 2024 Experienced Drivers, Open Lapping On June 14th, 2024, Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) and Discovery Parts are offering an open track day. We will have open pits and open track for advanced drivers with no run groups. This open track day is on the Friday before the SCCA DBL SARRC, which takes place on Saturday, June 15th, and Sunday, June 16th. This AMP/Discovery Parts open track day is the perfect opportunity for last-minute testing, car shakedown, AMP track orientation, etc. AMP Open Track Day Participants You don't need to race in the SCCA DBL SARRC event to drive in the AMP/Discovery Parts Open Track Day on June 14th. However, this open track day is for experienced drivers with at least four (4) weekends of previous, successful on-track driving experience.   No novice drivers with fewer than four (4) successfully-completed weekend track events/HPDE under their belt will be allowed to drive on-track. This event is for Experienced drivers. Participant Age Without racing license: you must be at least 18 years old on or before June 14, 2024 in order to drive on the race track during this event. With racing license:   you must be at least 16 years old on or before June 14, 2024 and hold a current, valid competition license issued by NASA, PCA, BMWCCA, SCCA, or HSR. You must present your original license (not a copy or a photo) at registration.  AMP Open Track Day Entry Fee The entry fee for one Full Day of open lapping, from 9:00am to 5:00pm, is $275.00 per vehicle. (The track goes cold from 1:00pm to 2:00pm for lunch.) That allows multiple drivers to use the same vehicle during different on-track sessions for one Full Day entry fee. All participating drivers must have arm bands before entering the race track. Some (But Not All) AMP Open Track Day Rules NOISE: AMP has lifted 98-dB noise limit to 104-db!! HOT PITS: Hot pits are open under green flag conditions. PASSING: Passing is allowed only after receiving a point-by. TRACK ENTRY: When entering the race track, do not cross or even touch the blend line. (Not kidding. Don't do it.) AMP Open Track Day Rule Violations FIRST VIOLATION: Typically a warning, depending on the nature and severity of the infraction. Report to the black flag station for consultation. SECOND VIOLATION: Park the vehicle for the remainder of the day. That means none of the drivers of that vehicle can go on track. You will be extremely unpopular in and around your paddock spot. AMP Open Track Day Required Driver Gear And Attire HELMET: Snell SA2015 or SA2020; FIA 8859-2015, FIA 8860-2010, or FIA 8860-2018 (FIA build date not before June 14, 2014). DRIVER SUIT: A fire suit is highly recommended, but not required. PANTS: Full-length 100% cotton or other natural material. No technical materials like polyester (e.g., UnderArmour material). SHIRT: Short- or long-sleeved 100% cotton or other natural material. No technical materials like polyester (e.g., UnderArmour material). SHOES: Auto racing shoes are highly recommended, but not required. Shoes must be closed-toe, cover the entire foot, and must be securely tied/fastened. GLOVES: Auto racing gloves are highly recommended, but not required. This event will take place rain or shine and has limited spots. No registration transfers are allowed. No refunds will be given for no-shows, cancelations, last-minute broken race cars, etc. No discounts/discount codes allowed for this event. If you contact us with a question that's already answered above, a three-second penalty will be added to your lap time and the penalty will be noted on all social media. For example, if you call and ask eight already-answered questions, 24 seconds will be added and it will appear as though you were lapping on your bicycle. A Word About Right-Seat Passengers Passengers will be allowed at the sole discretion of the event organizer and crew, and strictly on a case-by-case basis. Typically only after observation of the driving and on-track behavior of the driver(s) of a vehicle during morning lapping. Eligible right-seat passengers will have completed the Motorsports Safety Foundation Level 2 or higher certification class and present their original card (not a copy or a photo) at registration.
