The IPD Competition Plenum for your 987.1 Boxster/Cayman (2005-2008) delivers increased performance that puts the Boxster and Cayman in the ring with the Porsche 911 Carrera! The perfectly balanced mid-engine Boxster and Cayman are Germany's canyon carving track meisters. Unfortunately, they were designed to be slightly under-powered from the factory so as not to threaten the 911's throne. The IPD Competition Plenum delivers increased performance that puts the Cayman in the ring with the Carrera.
The IPD Competition Plenum outperforms every other intake system on the market. IPD's patented "Y" design and optimized diversion areas deliver real, usable power that transforms the Boxster or Cayman's performance on both the street and race track.
The IPD Boxster/Cayman Competition Plenum was designed to meet the needs of the most demanding Porsche enthusiasts. Its higher flow characteristics utilize the GT3's 82mm Bosch throttle body (available as an add-on above), allowing it to deliver greater air flow, better fuel/air mixing and substantial increases in performance.
The IPD Competition Plenum unlocks performance even with your stock exhaust. It is optimized to work in conjunction with a cat-back high flow performance exhaust and high-flow intake filter, so you can continue to unlock performance in the future. (These are not required, but are preferred.)

IPD Competition Plenum for Porsche 981 Spyder/GT4
Once again, Porsche left the door open for engine performance improvements with the 981 Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4. Using the same factory intake found on the less-powerful 981 S and GTS models, despite using the 911 Carrera S 3.8L engine, the intake's 74mm throttle body limits power and torque to keep the 981 from treading too close to the 911. As a result, Porsche's 991 Carrera S delivers 420 HP while the GT4 makes 385 HP with the same engine.
Why does the GT4 produce 35 fewer horses? (The GT4 engine is only 15 HP stronger than the base Carrera 3.4L engine!) The Carrera S engine, with its 82mm throttle body, benefits from the IPD Plenum, so it figures the GT4 would really benefit from an IPD Competition Plenum and 82mm throttle body.
Initial dyno tests performed in Germany showed gains of 18 HP and 17 lbs-ft. of torque at the GT4's wheels. Considering that the 981's ECU requires more adaptation time than other Porsche models (over a hundred miles for the full adaptive process), this means the full performance gains for the GT4 will be even greater.
Discovery Parts installed the IPD Competition Plenum and 82mm TB on our GT4 and were immediately impressed with the increased mid-range and top-end power and torque, and throttle response. The IPD plenum delivers net gains throughout both power and torque curves, helping the GT4 compete with its GT3 big brother.

The product of an extensive R&D program, IPD's 82mm Competition Plenum delivers excellent performance and value. The Competition Plenum upgrades the factory 74mm throttle body to the larger 997 GT3 82mm throttle body. This combination has proven to be the most popular and deliver even more performance.
Porsche made a few upgrades to the 981 intake versus the 987; most notably, the 981 draws outside air from both driver- and passenger-side air intakes instead of the driver-side only. IPD developed a custom silicone hose designed to perfectly fit the larger 82mm TB and considerably improve air flow.
Their 981 plenum also benefits from the internal dimpling effect they've implemented on all plenums. This internal dimpling allows IPD to control the boundary layer and maximize air flow within the plenum. Just like a dimpled golf ball travels farther, controlled turbulent air creates less friction and "tumbles" over a given area more efficiently.
Power gains with the IPD 981 Competition Plenum are +20 HP and +16 lbs-ft. of torque at the wheels. The bulk of the power gains from the IPD plenum begin at 4000 RPM, become fully realized at 6000 RPM, and continue all the way to redline. IPD performance gains stay above factory power and torque curves throughout the entire rev range.

Dry carbon is stronger and lighter than wet carbon, often weighing 1/3 of our competitors products. Our manufacturing methods also produce a smoother surface on each part for more dimensional accuracy; shaving edges, widening mounting holes and flexing pieces to make them fit are a thing of the past.
C3 Carbon also applies an automotive urethane clear-coat which is U/V cured for durability and guarantees C3 Carbon parts won't yellow over time.
Many of our competitors use wet carbon (which is heavier), and some use fiberglass with a carbon overlay (much heavier, as the carbon fiber has epoxy literally painted onto it). These materials and manufacturing methods produce a poor finish due to air contamination, and because the epoxy isn t applied uniformly throughout the weave. These products are also much weaker than C3 Carbon products. Finally, most competitors use a fiberglass mold, which is far less expensive but cannot maintain the strict tolerances we demand of our own products. In the end, the fit and finish simply cannot stand up to C3 Carbon products.

RSL 1:
PAGID RSL1 racing compounds are complex formulations with very high content of ceramic materials. The difference to competitors metallic compounds is the superior thermal insulation and the higher heat resistance of ceramic compared to iron. Ceramic has a very low heat conductivity, so less brake disc temperature goes through the pad to the caliper. Pagid have measured up to 140 degrees farenheit difference in temperature compared to competitor pads.
RST 1:
