Why the Stilo ST5.1 GT Carbon Helmet is the Real MVP:
Strength on Fleek: Made with an autoclave molded carbon fiber shell, this helmet gives you Hulk-like strength but with the weight of Ant-Man. Oh, and did we mention it’s tougher than fiberglass and other composites? ‘Cause it totally is.
See the World... or Just the Track: With its sizeable eyeport, this helmet offers peripheral vision that’s off the charts. And for those sunny track days? Choose from tinted, mirrored, or iridium-colored visors (sold separately, folks) that are as easy to open and close as popping open a can of your favorite drink.
Safety First, Second, and Always: While it boasts of its Snell SA2020 certification (major bragging rights there), it hasn’t forgotten its FIA 8858-2015 roots. Basically, it's the cool kid that’s welcome at almost every racing party.
The Swiss Army Knife of Helmets: With ports for communications, forced air, and hydration, the Stilo ST5.1 GT is a multitasker's dream. And thanks to its design genius, all these features blend seamlessly, keeping you focused on the road.
Get the Perfect Fit: Trust us, size matters. So get your head measured correctly (maybe turn it into a fun evening activity?). And if you’re teetering between sizes, might we suggest going a size up? After all, comfort is king.
Specifications to Make You Swoon:
Noise attenuating earmuffs to ensure your ears are blissfully ignorant of the outside world.
Ports ready for whatever you throw at it—be it communications, forced air, or hydration.
SA2020 Snell certification because protection is our middle name.
Compatibility is key: All existing Stilo ST5 shields and other nifty Stilo accessories play nice with the new ST5.1 SA2020 helmets.
Picture this: The roar of the engine, the wind against your face, and the rush of the race, all while the Stilo ST5.1 GT Carbon Fiber Helmet snugly embraces your noggin. It's not just a helmet; it's an experience.
Ready to Upgrade Your Helmet Game? The track won't know what hit it. Grab the Stilo ST5.1 GT Carbon Fiber Helmet SA2020 and ride with style and safety. Click to buy NOW, and let's race to the future together!
The ST5.1 GT Carbon is Stilo's Snell SA2020-compliant version of their best-selling carbon helmet. With an autoclave molded carbon fiber shell, the ST5.1 GT Carbon offers strength superior to fiberglass and composites while minimizing weight.
With its large eyeport, the Stilo ST5.1 GT Carbon offers unsurpassed peripheral vision and all of the available tinted, mirrored, and iridium-colored visors (sold separately) have a center pinch-clip to make opening and closing easy, even while wearing nomex racing gloves.
Although updated to meet the newest Snell SA2020 certification, the Stilo ST5.1 GT Carbon retains its FIA 8858-2015 homologation as well. This makes the helmet legal for nearly all road race usage (except for those sanctioning bodies requiring FIA 8860 homologation).
INTEGRATED FLEXIBILITY
The Stilo ST5.1 GT Composite is unsurpassed in built-in flexibility. Its two side ports can be fitted with three different types of integrated communication electronics, forced air, helmet eject system, or a hydration system. Thanks to its innovative shell design, mounting and routing these options to the ST5.1 GT is sleek and seamless. When not in use, you don't even know the features are there.
Whether you're using side-mounted communications, side air, or a built-in hydration kit for staying hydrated during long enduro stints, everything is neat, tidy and completely out of the way when not needed. Stilo offers simply the best modular racing helmet on the market.
Industry-standard M6 threaded receivers are molded into the helmet shell to accommodate anchors for whichever head-and-neck restraint you use. Size Note: We have found that customers who typically wear a size 59 helmet are most comfortable in size 60, which uses the large shell. Please order accordingly.
To get the most accurate measurement please have an assistant use a fabric measuring tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head starting at a point approximately one inch above your eyebrows in front, around a point in the back of your head that results in the largest possible measurement, and finally wrapping back to the front. It is a good idea to take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one.
STILO ST5 GT CARBON FIBER HELMET FEATURES:

Ports for integrated communications, forced air, or hydration

STILO ST5 GT CARBON FIBER AUTO RACING HELMET FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ):
Remember that safety is paramount in auto racing, and choosing the right helmet and maintaining it properly is essential for your protection on the track. Always consult with the professionals at Discovery Parts and refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific questions about your racing helmet.
Why do I need a racing helmet?
Auto racing helmets are designed to protect drivers from head injuries and fire during high-speed races and crashes. They are a crucial safety component in motorsports.
How do I choose the right size Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet? You should measure your head's circumference using a flexible tape measure, then refer to the manufacturer's sizing chart to select the appropriate size helmet. Please review our blog posting on how to properly fit your new auto racing helmet from Discovery Parts.
What safety standards should I look for in a Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet? Look for helmets that meet safety standards like Snell and FIA depending on your racing discipline. These standards ensure the helmet's safety and quality. DOT helmets are designed for street use and not for racing and track use.
What's the difference between full-face and open-face, and helmets? Full-face helmets provide the most protection with a complete face shield, while open-face helmets cover the top and sides of the head.
Can I use a motorcycle helmet for auto racing? No, motorcycle helmets do not provide the same level of protection as auto racing helmets, as they are designed for different purposes. It's recommended to use a helmet specifically designed for auto racing which includes fire protection in addition to impact protection.
How often should I replace my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber auto racing helmet? Auto racing helmets should be replaced every 5-10 years, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations and usage. If the helmet is involved in a crash, it should be replaced immediately.
Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones? Safety standards dictate the minimum safety requirements, so even budget-friendly helmets can offer protection. However it’s important to consider how lower-priced helmets are meeting the required testing standards. More expensive helmets are lighter, smaller, are constructed of superior materials, and often come with additional features then less expensive helmets.
How do I maintain and clean my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet? Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintenance. You should clean the exterior, interior and shield with the Molecule Helmet Care Kit.
Do I need to wear a balaclava under my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing racing helmet? Balaclavas are typically not required for Driver's Education events, however they make wearing a helmet much, much more comfortable. Balaclavas will provide fire protection (if fire rated), help keep your helmet lining clean and order free by absorbing the majority of sweat while using it, and additionally balaclavas make putting your helmet on and taking it off by protecting your ears and keeping from from folding over when you helmet is worn. Discovery Parts recommends balaclavas from Alpinestars, OMP, Sabelt, Sparco, and Stand21. If you are entering sanctioned auto racing events, balaclavas will be required for fire protection.
Is the SNELL SA Rating important? The Snell SA2020 certification is a safety standard established by the Snell Memorial Foundation for auto racing helmets. It sets the criteria and requirements that helmets must meet to be considered safe and suitable for use in motorsport events. Snell SA2020 certification is highly regarded in the motorsports industry and is often required or recommended by racing organizations and events. It signifies that a helmet has passed rigorous testing to provide maximum safety for drivers in various motorsport disciplines, including road racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, and more. It's essential for drivers to check the specific safety standards required by the racing organizations they participate in to ensure compliance.
Is the FIA helmet certification important? Yes, FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) certification is crucial for auto racing helmets, especially in the context of international motorsport events and many national and regional racing series in the USA. The FIA 8859-2015 standard is commonly associated with racing helmets used in various motorsport disciplines. Helmets certified to FIA 8859-2015 met the safety requirements set by the FIA and were widely accepted in many racing series
Which helmet certification is the most stringent and the hardest to meet? The FIA 8860-2018 certification is considered the most stringent and advanced helmet certifications available for auto racing helmets, and it is often associated with top-tier motorsport categories like Formula 1. It's important to note that the FIA 8860-2018 helmets offer a high level of protection and their use is mandatory in many racing series. Drivers should always check the regulations of the racing series they intend to participate in to ensure compliance with helmet certification standards.
Can I wear glasses with my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet? Most helmets have provisions for wearing glasses or goggles, but check the design to be sure. Most manufacturers feature helmet models with wider eye ports to better accommodate eye glasses.
Are carbon fiber helmets better? Carbon fiber helmets are lightweight and strong, a top choice for racers. But remember, certification matters most.
Can I use a used helmet for racing? It's best to buy a new helmet. Used helmets may have unseen damage or be out of date on safety standards.
Can I buy replacement parts for my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet, like visors or padding? Many manufacturers offer replacement parts, including visors and padding, to extend your helmet's lifespan.
How can I prevent helmet fogging during races? Anti-fog sprays and inserts are available to help keep your visor clear during races.
What's the importance of proper helmet ventilation? Proper ventilation helps keep you cool and comfortable during races, reducing the risk of heat exhaustion.
How do I store my Stilo ST5 GT Carbon Fiber racing helmet between races? Keep it in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and chemicals in a bag designed to store your auto racing helmet, like the Discovery Parts Evo Helmet Bag.
Where can I buy a certified racing helmet? You should only buy from a professional authorized dealer who has sold thousands of helmets. You can find all the best brands at Discovery Parts online at www.discoveryparts.com or visit our retail store at Atlanta Motorsports park or at one of the hundreds of race and track day events we attend and support.
Remember, safety should always come first in auto racing. Choose a certified helmet that meets the necessary standards to protect yourself on the track.

Chillout Systems Pro Touring Sport SFI Cooling Shirt
$525.00
Chillout Systems Pro Touring Sport Cooling Shirt (SFI Rated)
The Chillout Systems Pro Touring Sport driver cooling shirt is SFI-rated and has 160 ft. of certified cooling veins structurally spread throughout the shirt's Nomex material. This extensive coolant tubing covers three times more of the human torso than competing cooling shirts.
WINNING RACES REQUIRES COOL THINKING
Heat exhaustion can break your focus and cause you to make mistakes on a race track. The structured cooling vein design of Chillout Systems garments cools your core even at temperatures close to ambient (55o F optimum), cooling the whole body and boosting your mental acuity. Systems using ice water are often too cold for efficient cooling, causing the capillaries just below the skin surface to close, slowing blood flow back to your core. Ice water systems can give the perception of cooling by changing the temperature of the skin without actually lowering your body temperature.
The Chillout Systems Pro Touring Sport SFI Cooling Shirt is fire-rated and specifically designed to contour to your torso, simulating a second skin to maximize contact between the cooling veins and your body.
