Sizing and Usage
Please ensure that your Chillout Pro Sport garments are not too tight, as this reduces the level of protection, and that they are also comfortable to wear under the actual conditions of use.
In order to obtain the maximum protection, all the clothing required in Appendix L (Chapter III, Article 2) to the FIA International Sporting Code should be used.
Wearers are warned of the particular vulnerability of the neck, wrists, and ankles. The neck, wrist, and ankles shall always be covered by at least two articles of protective clothing.
The balaclava and top underlayers shall overlap by a minimum of 3cm / 1.2" around the driver's neck, except at the front center line where there shall be 8cm / 3.2" overlap. The top and bottom underlayers shall overlap by a minimum of 7cm / 2.8" around the drivers waist.
Maintenance of Chillout Pro Sport Underlayers
Chillout Pro Sport flame resistant underwear must be cleaned and ironed according to the instructions on the label and always to be handled with care. Drivers should replace any and all items as soon as they show signs of wear. Please note that the materials are light sensitive and should not be exposed to direct sunlight for a prolonged period of time. Sunlight especially can cause changes in the shade of colors and begin the premature aging of the materials.
Embroidery/Labels on Chillout Pro Sport Underlayers
Protective clothing, while designed to offer protection against heat and flames, may not safeguard against all potential hazards encountered in automobile racing. It is essential that users adhere to the guidelines outlined in this manual. Proper sizing and usage are imperative for optimal protection. Users should ensure that garments are not overly tight, as this can compromise protection levels, and that they are comfortable to wear under actual usage conditions. For maximum protection, it is recommended to utilize all clothing items specified in Appendix L (Chapter III, Article 2) of the FIA International Sporting Code.
Wearers should pay particular attention to the vulnerability of the neck, wrists, and ankles, ensuring they are covered by at least two articles of protective clothing. Specific overlap measurements are provided for various garment combinations, detailed within this manual. Embroidery and badges should be applied in accordance with fireproof standards outlined in ISO 15025. Only the garment manufacturer is authorized to apply advertising through printing or transfers, and certification from the manufacturer is necessary for any customized garments.
Any alterations or customizations not meeting these standards may invalidate the garment's homologation, potentially resulting in penalties or disqualification during events. In case of uncertainty regarding advertising additions, it is advisable to consult the manufacturer.
Cleaning/Maintenance of Chillout Pro Sport Underlayers
The clothing items must be cleaned and ironed following the instructions provided on the label and handled with due care and attention at all times. Garments showing signs of wear should be replaced promptly. It is important to be aware that the materials used in the clothing are sensitive to light and should not be exposed to direct sunlight for prolonged periods. Exposure to sunlight can result in changes to the colors and premature aging of the materials.
If your clothing sustains damage such as tears, abrasions, or exposure to heat and flames, it must be replaced. However, if minor tears can be repaired, the same materials and fabrics originally used in manufacturing must be utilized for the repair.

EEC Certification/Guarantee of Chillout Pro Sport Underlayers

HANS/HNR Device Recertification
PLEASE DO NOT PREPAY for a certification service. If you have shipped us an HNR device for recertification, we will contact you to discuss what level of service your device requires. (The most common is Level 2, an SFI label and a tether.) If you have not yet shipped us your HNR device, see the instructions below for doing so.
HANS DEVICE RECERTIFICATION
Discovery Parts is certified by Simpson Racing to inspect, repair, and recertify all HANS devices that have an SFI 38.1 tag (silver metal foil decal). All HANS SFI 38.1 devices must be recertified every five years.
Discovery Parts recertifies HNR devices at our store inside Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP) as well as trackside at track many events and races. You can ship your HNR device to us for recertification by printing this form, filling it out, and sending it to us along with your device.
If you are coming directly to our AMP store location with your HNR device, please call beforehand to confirm that one of our certified inspection technicians will be at the AMP store when you arrive.
EXAMPLE OF NEEDING RECERTIFICATION
If, for example, your device was last certified in April 2020, you need to have it recertified no later than May 1, 2025. Typically, recertification consists of cleaning and inspecting the HANS/HNR device for damage and replacing the tether system with a brand new one.
An HNR device passing inspection will get a new SFI 38.1 compliance sticker punched with the new date of certification. This device will now be valid for another five years.
