Sparco Eagle 2.0 Race Suit The Eagle 2.0 is newest evolution of the Eagle race suit. The new Eagle 2.0 race suit features an updated, softer HOCOTEX® material which is 30% thinner. The Eagle 2.0 race suit features an all-new design with four new colorways. The Eagle 2.0 race suit carries the newest FIA homologation.  SINGLE-LAYER CONSTRUCTION, MULTI-LAYER PERFORMANCE   The Eagle 2.0 race suit is the result of over 3 years of research and development. Sparco has patented a new technology called HOCOTEX® which revolutionizes the way racing suits are made. This new exclusive Sparco technology creates a single layer fabric which has the protection of what is normally achieved by a multi-layer fabric. The Eagle 2.0 race suit is FIA 8856-2018 homologated.   SPARCO EAGLE 2.0 RACE SUIT UNPRECEDENTED COMFORT   Thanks to HOCOTEX®, the Eagle 2.0 race suit is three times more breathable than a suit produced using traditional technology. The use of this relatively thinner fabric along with large side and back stretch panels and 360 degree arm gussets give the Eagle 2.0 ultimate flexibility and comfort. The Eagle 2.0 race suit uses a new stretch material called Eagle fabric, which is lighter, more breathable, and more abrasion resistant than traditional stretch material. SPARCO EAGLE 2.0 RACE SUIT IMPROVED FIRE RESISTANCE Traditional racing suits have layers of fabric sewn together in a quilted pattern. The quilting provides air space between the layers which bloats in a fire, this provides thermal protection to the driver. HOCOTEX® creates a honeycomb structure with internal air cells that ensure the driver even more fire protection. Traditional box quilting creates an average of 300 air chambers in a size 52 suit. The Eagle 2.0 race suit has over 60,000 microcell air chambers which provide a 10 to 12% increase in heat protection performance. TECHNOLOGY   Single layer construction, multi-layer protection 3X more breathable than a standard suit with full 360o arm gussets Large stretch panels on sides and back with new breathable fabric Reinforced arms and legs with anti-abrasive material Three years of research and development HOCOTEX® patented Sparco Technology made in Italy Available in four colorways FIA 8856-2018 homologated

Always consult with the professionals at Discovery Parts and refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific questions about your racing helmet. Why do I need a racing helmet? Auto racing helmets are designed to protect drivers from head injuries and fire during high-speed races and crashes. They are a crucial safety component in motorsports. How do I choose the right size BELL BR.8 carbon fiber helmet? You should measure your head's circumference using a flexible tape measure, then refer to the manufacturer's sizing chart to select the appropriate size helmet. Please review our blog posting on how to properly fit your new auto racing helmet from Discovery Parts. What safety standards should I look for in a racing helmet? Look for helmets that meet safety standards like Snell and FIA depending on your racing discipline. These standards ensure the helmet's safety and quality. DOT helmets are designed for street use and not for racing and track use. What's the difference between full-face and open-face, and helmets? Full-face helmets provide the most protection with a complete face shield, while open-face helmets cover the top and sides of the head. Can I use a motorcycle helmet for auto racing? No, motorcycle helmets do not provide the same level of protection as auto racing helmets, as they are designed for different purposes. It's recommended to use a helmet specifically designed for auto racing which includes fire protection in addition to impact protection. How often should I replace my BELL BR.8 carbon fiber auto racing helmet? Auto racing helmets should be replaced every 5-10 years, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations and usage. If the helmet is involved in a crash, it should be replaced immediately. Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones? Safety standards dictate the minimum safety requirements, so even budget-friendly helmets can offer protection. However it’s important to consider how lower-priced helmets are meeting the required testing standards. More expensive helmets are lighter, smaller, are constructed of superior materials, and often come with additional features then less expensive helmets. How do I maintain and clean my BELL BR.8 carbon fiber racing helmet? Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintenance. You should clean the exterior, interior and shield with the Molecule Helmet Care Kit. Do I need to wear a balaclava under my BELL BR.8 carbon fiber racing helmet? Balaclavas are typically not required for Driver's Education events, however they make wearing a helmet much, much more comfortable. Balaclavas will provide fire protection (if fire rated), help keep your helmet lining clean and order free by absorbing the majority of sweat while using it, and additionally balaclavas make putting your helmet on and taking it off by protecting your ears and keeping from from folding over when you helmet is worn. Discovery Parts recommends balaclavas from Alpinestars, OMP, Sabelt, Sparco, and Stand21. If you are entering sanctioned auto racing events, balaclavas will be required for fire protection. Is the SNELL SA Rating important? The Snell SA2020 certification is a safety standard established by the Snell Memorial Foundation for auto racing helmets. It sets the criteria and requirements that helmets must meet to be considered safe and suitable for use in motorsport events. It signifies that a helmet has passed rigorous testing to provide maximum safety for drivers in various motorsport disciplines, including road racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, and more. It's essential for drivers to check the specific safety standards required by the racing organizations they participate in to ensure compliance. Is the FIA helmet certification important? Meru Ascent Carbon Head Restraint
Meru Meru Ascent Carbon Head Restraint $1,250.00
Meru Ascent Carbon Head Restraint With IDS Meru’s revolutionary Inertia Dampening System(IDS) has single-handedly changed how Frontal Head Restraint(FHR) manufactures will design their restraints moving forward and will push safety organizations to rewrite their current safety standards. The old thought process of leaving concussion prevention to the helmets has been upended and Meru has pushed FHR manufactures to take concussions seriously. Meru’s proprietary Inertia Dampening System will hold a competitive advantage in both concussion and neck safety.A CLIMB TO CONCUSSION PREVENTION.• IDS controls the head’s entire movement forward in an impact.• IDS prevents a sudden stop in an impact.• IDS reduces both linear and angular acceleration.• IDS has speed sensitive valving to ensure driver comfort and safety.• IDS reduces both concussion causing forces and upper neck tension.• IDS can withstand thousands of impacts• In a 70G impact IDS reduced the force through the head from over 300lbs with our best competitor, to just over 60lbs with our device, a near 80% reduction in force.• Hundreds of pounds under the SFI and FIA upper neck tension threshold.• Carbon Fiber Headrest and Collar.• Carbon Kevlar burst panel.• All titanium hardware.• Fully customized CNC’d dampener with propriety IDS technology featuringspeed sensitive valving to maximize both safety and comfort.• Moving headrest allows for universal use in all seating positions. The forces to the head in the majority of auto racing accidents come from rotational energy which promotes angular acceleration. It has become rare to have a direct linear impact to the head. Traditional FHR's solid construction and tethering prevent the ability to mitigate angular acceleration forces. With traditional FHR’s in an impact the brain and head immediately speed up and then come to an immediate stop when the tether stops the helmet, which has a similar effect to hitting your head on a wall despite not leaving a scratch on the helmet.IDS technology immediately begins slowing the impact down, controlling the helmet's movement forward, thereby reducing the transfer of angular acceleration forces to the head and brain.LOW-THRESHOLD ENERGYRecent medical research has provided alarming conclusions surrounding the causes, severity, and long-term effects of concussions. Even seemingly minor concussions may have much more serious long-term effects on the brain, especially when frequency is increased. The current crop of head restraints focus on limiting upper neck tension and leaving concussion prevention up to the helmet companies. With this well noted, the vast majority of impacts one might experience in auto racing qualify as low-threshold energy impacts; impacts well below the certification standards' pass/fail velocities, but severe enough to sustain a concussion or a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Bumpy tracks, a big cushion in dirt cars, or a string of small crashes can do enough jarring to sustain a concussion or TBI without any obvious carnage to pair it with. IDS starts working the instant an impact begins and the speed sensitive valving makes the technology more compliant and progressive over a broad range of impact velocities common in ‘real world’ racing while still exceeding the global standard pass/fail requirements.HIGH-VELOCITY IMPACTSAcross the entire range of potential impact velocities, the Meru Ascent FHR with IDS technology consistently outperforms competitive designs. Meru meticulously engineers the collar, headrest, hardware, guards and IDS to provide the best possible impact mitigation performance across all impact velocities for both angular and linear accelerations. In a 70G force impact at the cape crash testing lab in Indianapolis, the Meru Ascent FHR with IDS reduced the concussion causing forces through the head from over 300 pounds with our best competition to just 63 pounds with our restraint. We were able to make those gains without giving up low-threshold energy protection or sacrificing neck safety.TIME-TO-PEAK (TTP)Time-to-Peak (TTP) is how long it takes the energy of an impact to reach maximum g-force. Deceleration time is the single most beneficial component in reducing the severity and magnitude of any impact — the more time, the less energy transferred.Because of our proprietary IDS technology, our speed sensitive dampener progressively lowers the head's velocity and almost triples the time to peak, spreading our already drastically reduced load over nearly triple the time.UPPER-NECK TENSIONThe original FHR’s were designed to limit upper neck tension. At the time auto racing's biggest problem was basal skull fracture. Caused by the whiplash motion in an impact, basal skull fracture often severed spinal cords, resulting in death. The original FHR designs did wonders for limiting how far forward the helmet could travel in an impact eliminating the finished whipping motion. In testing to see how well FHR’s do at preventing basal skull fracture, we look at upper neck tension. This number is the main pass/fail standard for the safety organization. In our mission of concussion prevention, the original FHR goal of lowered upper neck tension was not lost on us and we were able to come in several hundred pounds below the set standard either matching or besting the current industry leaders.
Simpson Hybrid S 3-Point FIA Head and Neck Restraint (with M61 Anchor)
Simpson Simpson Hybrid S 3-Point FIA Head and Neck Restraint (with M61 Anchor) $1,245.95
Simpson Hybrid S 3-Point Head and Neck Restraint(with M61 Anchor)  The Hybrid S Head Restraint is FIA and SFI approved (when worn with a multi-point harness system) and is tested and shown to be compatible with 3-point harnesses used by Car Club enthusiasts and High Performance Driving Experiences. This allows Driving Instructors, Auto Manufacturing Test Engineers, and others in cars with 3-point harnesses to have added protection. We are pleased to offer this great option for increased protection to this sector of the market. Bear in mind, however, that on a racetrack the best protection we believe is a Full-Containment Cockpit System that includes a full containment seat, Snell SA2015 or FIA 8860 rated helmet, FIA or SFI approved head restraint, and 6- or 7-point racing harness system. OPTIONS: Select your size based on the size chart M 61 Anchors FEATURES: FIA and SFI Approved with 5-, 6- and 7-point harness systems FMVSS Tested for use with 3-point OEM belt system High quality carbon fiber construction Low profile, no high back to hook on the roll bars, etc. in emergency exit Multiple load paths to dissipate head loads Buckle attachment in front, no bulky straps underneath INSTALLATION: To use a Hybrid S with a 3-point seat belt system, the SAS (Seatbelt Anchoring System) is not used. (The SAS strap anchor loops hook into the buckle of a 5-, 6- or 7-point racing harness.) Have the wearer put on the Hybrid S and get into the driver's seat. Follow the instructions on fitting the device to the wearer. Engage the 3-point seat belt and sit in the normal driving position. Have a helper apply gentle pressure to the top of the device, keeping the device stable during tether adjustment. The device should be in a comfortable position behind the driver’s back, against the seat cushion. With the helper holding the device and the driver looking straight forward, hold the triangulated tether up to the anchors on the driver’s helmet. Adjust the side tethers so that the end fitting can be easily inserted into the helmet anchor without pulling down on the helmet. A comfortable adjustment on the side tether is to have about ¼” of slack in the tethers. With the helper still holding the device down and the driver looking straight ahead, adjust the rear tethers so that there is ½” to 1” of slack. Test the amount of head movement by moving the head straight forward. The driver should have 1” to 2” of forward head movement before the slack is taken out of the tether. Remember when checking this not to rotate the head down; translate it straight forward. This should allow for plenty of head movement on track. AIRBAG USE WITH HYBRID S: No one should unhook or disable the airbag system installed by the auto manufacturer or their authorized installer. Outside experts in Detroit have confirmed this and require their test engineers to use the Hybrid S in conjunction with the airbag in a 3-point system. Simpson agrees that the airbag and Hybrid S work together to increase protection in frontal crashes.
