Sparco AIR-15 Drag Suit: Lightweight Protection for Your Fastest Runs
When it’s you against the quarter-mile, every millisecond counts—and the Sparco AIR-15 Drag Suit is here to help you shave off time while keeping you cool, comfortable, and, most importantly, protected. As the lightest and most breathable SFI 15-rated drag racing suit on the market, the AIR-15 gives you the edge to leave your competition in the dust.

Whether you’re pulling G’s off the line or cruising back to the pits, the AIR-15 has been designed with drag racers in mind. The suit comes in both a one-piece overall and a two-piece jacket and pants set, so you can choose the fit that works best for your racing style. Plus, features like fully floating sleeves, internal knitted cuffs, and an expandable waist ensure maximum mobility. So, when you’re making those split-second shifts or lining up the perfect launch, you won’t feel held back by your gear.
Bonus points? This suit includes SFI-approved sewn-on arm restraints, so you’ll stay safe and secure without sacrificing flexibility.

Sparco Eagle RS8.2 Driver Race Suit
The Sparco Eagle RS-8.2 race suit uses a combination of HOCOTEX and Eagle fabrics to produce an ultra lightweight and breathable race suit. The main structure of the Sparco Eagle RS8.2 race suit, like in the previous version, is the tried and tested characteristic HOCOTEX, (single-layer weave of 0.6mm ultra-thin fabric), combined with other accessory fabrics like Sparco's Eagle elasticized fabric (well-known and used in various Sparco race suit models), and panels in contrast in flat, ultra-light cloth for anti-abrasion reinforcements on the legs and arms. Stitched quilting made with thin yarn, concealed pockets, a pre-formed neck, and belt with the characteristic Sparco logo round out the functional features of the Sparco Eagle RS8.2.

An effective helmet is one that fits properly. Have an assistant use a dressmaker's tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head, starting at a point about an inch above the eyebrows and around a point in the back of the head that results in the largest measurement, finally wrapping back around to the front. It's a good idea to take a few measurements and order your helmet based on the largest.
Size Note: We have found that customers who typically wear a size 59 helmet are most comfortable in size 60, which uses the large shell. Please order accordingly.

Sparco Extrema S Driver Race Suit
SAVE $$$
The The Sparco Extrema-S racing suit takes the same patented Hocotex material used in the successful Eagle line and presents in a classically styled suit. Three times as breathable as a traditional layered racing suit, 360 degree floating arm gussets are combined with a stretch back panel for maximum flexibility and comfort. Extra flat seams provide additional comfort, while traditional design touches such as classic Sparco epaulletes and seamless ankle/wrist cuffs make this suit a perfect platform for sponsor logos! How does Hocotex work? Racing suits are traditionally constructed using layers of fabric sewn together with a quilted pattern. This quilting creates pockets of air between the layers which expands in a fire, providing thermal protection for the driver. Hocotex uses a honeycomb structure with over 60,000 internal air cells that provide a 10 to 12% increase in heat protection. Compare this to the 300 quilted chambers found in a traditional suit and the difference is clear!

Arai Auto Racing GP-5W SA2020 Helmet
The Arai GP-5W Auto Racing Helmet: Your Ticket to the VIP Racing Experience
Welcome to the next-gen of auto racing helmets, where style and substance join forces to deliver a turbocharged head-hugging experience. Introducing the Arai GP5W. Forget what you know about racing helmets because the GP-5W is rewriting the rules, one lap at a time!
Let's start with that drop-dead gorgeous, wider 90mm eye port opening. Not only does it make you look like you’re straight out of a futuristic racing movie, but that approx 3.5” top-to-bottom view? It's like watching the racetrack on IMAX. This isn’t just any window to the track; it's your panoramic penthouse view of the racing world.
Now, we've all had those moments, squinting through standard visors, missing out on the beauty of the track’s curves. No more! The exclusive shield on the GP-5W flaunts that larger opening, ensuring every twist and turn is yours to conquer.
Safety? The Arai GP-5W doesn’t just walk the talk; it revs the engine and roars. Snell SA2020 certified? Check. Factory-installed M6 washer/nuts? You bet. So, when it comes to anchoring your Head and Neck Restraint system, it’s smooth sailing (or should we say, smooth racing?). Plus, that cherry-on-top FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker nestled on the shell interior lining is just the nod from the pros you’ve been waiting for.
So, if you're the kind of racer who demands the best, whether you're tearing it up in stock car showdowns, pushing limits in a club race, or getting gritty with rally drives, the Arai GP-5W is your helmet soulmate.
The Arai Auto Racing GP-5W SA2020 Helmet is perfect for stock car, road race, and rally drivers. The GP-5W Helmet is a favorite because of its wider, 90mm (approx 3.5 top to bottom) eye port opening. The GP-5W uses its own exclusive shield with this larger opening.
The Arai GP-5W is Snell SA2020 certified with M6 washer/nuts installed at the factory. Drivers of any experience level will be able to easily install their Head and Neck Restraint system anchor posts (sold separately). The Arai Auto Racing GP-5W SA2020 also comes with the FIA-8859-2015 certification sticker found on the shell interior lining.
SCLC CONSTRUCTION
The GP-5W Helmet SA2020 is built with Arai's exclusive, very-lightweight SCLC (Super Complex Laminate Construction) shell technology. This ensures a low overall weight to balance the added weight of the helmet larger shield.
ARAI GP-5W SHELL SHAPE
The The Arai Auto Racing GP-5W Helmet SA2020 helps reduce fatigue for the driver due to its more natural head shape, smaller shell size, and lower center of gravity to assist with balance and stability.
ARAI GP-5W INTERIOR FIT
The The Arai Auto Racing GP-5W Helmet SA2020 is designed to closely match the shape of the human head, allowing for a snug, yet comfortable, fit. Arai has developed this natural shape over more than 50 years of helmet design research and refinement.
ARAI GP-5W WIDER EYE PORT
Sedan drivers will appreciate the larger, 90mm eye port, top to bottom. A visor peak is available for drivers not needing a shield on the The Arai Auto Racing GP-5W Helmet SA2020.
REMOVABLE/REPLACEABLE CHEEK PADS
Low-maintenance, easy-to-clean cheek pads are removable, washable, and replaceable with pads of varying thickness to provide a snug, safe fit.
M6 ANCHORS
The FIA-8859-2015 certified ARAI GP-5W Helmet SA2020 is pre-installed with the M6 threaded washer/nut with 6mm threads. This convenient feature allows the driver to use the anchor system that works with their Head and Neck Restraints the best. The anchor post is made to rest flush on the helmet surface due to a flat surface area around the mounting nut. Accepts a variety of anchor systems for Head and Neck Restraints.
ARAI GP-5W VENTILATION
Sedan car and closed cockpit drivers need greater airflow when racing. The upper ventilation system of the ARAI GP-5W SA2020 Helmet incorporates two exhaust vents and two large intake ducts to help keep the driver cool and comfortable.
OPTIONS INCLUDE
Anti- Fog Shields in Clear, Light Tint and Dark Smoke; Standard shields in Clear, Light Tint and Dark Smoke.
An effective helmet is one that fits properly. Have an assistant use a measuring tape, or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head starting at a point approximately one inch above the eyebrows in front, around a point in the back of the head that results in the largest possible measurement, and finally wrapping back to the front. It is a good idea to take several measurements to make sure you have the largest one.
The ARAI GP-5W helmet will ship to you with signature required for delivery.
ARAI GP-5W FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ):
Remember that safety is paramount in auto racing, and choosing the right helmet and maintaining it properly is essential for your protection on the track. Always consult with the professionals at Discovery Parts and refer to the manufacturer's guidelines for specific questions about your racing helmet.
Why do I need a racing helmet?
Auto racing helmets are designed to protect drivers from head injuries and fire during high-speed races and crashes. They are a crucial safety component in motorsports.
How do I choose the right size Arai GP-5W Auto Racing helmet? You should measure your head's circumference using a flexible tape measure, then refer to the manufacturer's sizing chart to select the appropriate size helmet. Please review our blog posting on how to properly fit your new auto racing helmet from Discovery Parts.
What safety standards should I look for in a racing helmet? Look for helmets that meet safety standards like Snell and FIA depending on your racing discipline. These standards ensure the helmet's safety and quality. DOT helmets are designed for street use and not for racing and track use.
What's the difference between full-face and open-face, and helmets? Full-face helmets provide the most protection with a complete face shield, while open-face helmets cover the top and sides of the head.
Can I use a motorcycle helmet for auto racing? No, motorcycle helmets do not provide the same level of protection as auto racing helmets, as they are designed for different purposes. It's recommended to use a helmet specifically designed for auto racing which includes fire protection in addition to impact protection.
How often should I replace my Arai GP-5W auto racing helmet? Auto racing helmets should be replaced every 5-10 years, depending on the manufacturer's recommendations and usage. If the helmet is involved in a crash, it should be replaced immediately.
Are expensive racing helmets safer than budget ones? Safety standards dictate the minimum safety requirements, so even budget-friendly helmets can offer protection. However it’s important to consider how lower-priced helmets are meeting the required testing standards. More expensive helmets are lighter, smaller, are constructed of superior materials, and often come with additional features then less expensive helmets.
How do I maintain and clean my Arai GP-5W Auto racing helmet? Follow the manufacturer's instructions for cleaning and maintenance. You should clean the exterior, interior and shield with the Molecule Helmet Care Kit.
Do I need to wear a balaclava under my Arai GP-5W Auto racing helmet? Balaclavas are typically not required for Driver's Education events, however they make wearing a helmet much, much more comfortable. Balaclavas will provide fire protection (if fire rated), help keep your helmet lining clean and order free by absorbing the majority of sweat while using it, and additionally balaclavas make putting your helmet on and taking it off by protecting your ears and keeping from from folding over when you helmet is worn. Discovery Parts recommends balaclavas from Alpinestars, OMP, Sabelt, Sparco, and Stand21. If you are entering sanctioned auto racing events, balaclavas will be required for fire protection.
Is the SNELL SA Rating important? The Snell SA2020 certification is a safety standard established by the Snell Memorial Foundation for auto racing helmets. It sets the criteria and requirements that helmets must meet to be considered safe and suitable for use in motorsport events. Snell SA2020 certification is highly regarded in the motorsports industry and is often required or recommended by racing organizations and events. It signifies that a helmet has passed rigorous testing to provide maximum safety for drivers in various motorsport disciplines, including road racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, drag racing, and more. It's essential for drivers to check the specific safety standards required by the racing organizations they participate in to ensure compliance.
Is the FIA helmet certification important? Yes, FIA (Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile) certification is crucial for auto racing helmets, especially in the context of international motorsport events and many national and regional racing series in the USA. The FIA 8859-2015 standard is commonly associated with racing helmets used in various motorsport disciplines. Helmets certified to FIA 8859-2015 met the safety requirements set by the FIA and were widely accepted in many racing series
