The Lap features a unique elastic cuff system which is extremely comfortable and was designed to work well with the Sparco Competition suit. The Lap also features “hybrid” finger stitching. The fingers are both external and internal stitched for comfort. The external stitching is used on the palm side of the finger so the driver does not have any pressure points from the stitch lines. This is a slightly heavier version of the ST5 Carbon helmet. It is made from a Kevlar Multi-Sandwich Fiber composite formed in an autoclave. It carries the same Snell SA2020 certification as the Carbon helmet, but the different material adds the weight. This different material yields a slightly heavier helmet, but at a reduced cost. The Snell SA2020 rating satisfies almost all racing sanctioning bodies’ requirements for helmet certifications.Available with integrated electronics, top- or side-forced air supply, hydration, or any combination of the three, this helmet offers flexibility while maintaining a clean cabin. An effective helmet is one that fits properly. Have an assistant use a dressmaker's tape or a piece of string to measure the circumference of your head, starting at a point about an inch above the eyebrows and around a point in the back of the head that results in the largest measurement, finally wrapping back around to the front. It's a good idea to take a few measurements and order your helmet based on the largest.
